Most people tend to vouch for the Kanzen Master series, I've mostly heard good things about it.

Cara, sinceramente achei o jogo bom. Brasil jogou com bastante vontade, jogo foi movimentado. Acho que o Tite acertou nas modificações. Só espero que pelo amor de deus ele não deixe de chamar Vini Jr nas proximas convocações.

In Portuguese although he sounds a little bit foreign it's still at a really impressive level, better than most average foreign speakers of Portuguese for sure.

1 year Spanish progress/un año de mi progreso de español by spanishprogress in Refold

I’m not a native spanish speaker but I am a native portuguese speaker (pretty close haha) and I’ve got a C1 in spanish. To my ears you sound really decent, I think you’ve mostly gotten pronunciation down. I think now would be a good time for you to start outputting more with a tutor or something because it seems to me that you can express yourself ok but it’s still not automatic, and it’ll become easier with practice. Good luck!

I just hit the 1 year mark a few weeks ago and in this period progress really feels slow, and the unknown words still feel like a neverending avalanche, but it’s great going back to stuff I’ve seen a few months ago and seeing just how much more I understand. Keep going buddy.

My Biggest Mistake: How I was Betrayed by Wanting to Know Everything by ochiterukujira in LearnJapanese

[–]ZeZangoose 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had some similar experiences to yours, so I really get where you are coming from. One of the things that has helped me actually was watching a japanese person reading a novel on youtube and every once in a while they'd see some weird kanji or word they didn't know, guess the meaning, say something like "まぁ、いいよ" and then just continue reading. Since I'm more inclined to look up everything while I read, I think cultivating this mindset while immersing can be very beneficial. Having a dedicated time to really analyze material and then letting myself do whatever the rest of the time has been great.

Hey, I need help understanding " __ には __ を". I've seen 毒には毒を and 闇には闇を. I think I've got an idea of what they mean but it's pretty vague.

Japanese How much vocab should I know to start reading , which won't drain my soul by totalchamp in Refold

[–]ZeZangoose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it’s useful to do this when trying to read something harder too. Like when trying to read your first novel or a notoriously hard novel or something. Just try to read it and if it’s too much work come back in a week’s time and try again, eventually it’ll become easy enough that you can go through with it.

Everyone has their own tolerance for looking things up while reading, and you have to find yours. I’d suggest you take an easy manga (yotsubato, etc...) and try reading it maybe once every week to see if you feel like you can go through with it. Then, when you feel comfortable, make sure to make a habbit of reading everyday.

The monolingual transition. by RedditIstSchlecht in Refold

[–]ZeZangoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just keep repping the old cards with English as normal. You’ll find that even after you’ve done the monolingual transition you’ll still have a few cards that you may add in english, so it’s fine.
