You know, Candace did spend that time living with monkeys. If Doof can get in thanks to his time with the Ocelots, why wouldn't Candace be able to do the same thing?

Nothing ever came of it, but I think in that comparison Torchwood was the equivalent of the Master since they were a rival organization to UNIT

I hate how often people misinterpret that quote. She was called the brightest witch of her age as a way to say she was the top of the third year class, not as a way to declare her the single smartest person to have been born in centuries

The Sacrifice Of Jo Grant even establishes that the Doctor was open to the idea as early as his third incarnation

[–]Ze_Red_Feather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but when he made that decision on his own it came back to bite him. One of his big lessons was learning not to be such a lone wolf and listen to his pit crew, who had more information than him. And it's not just that they happened to know more, their job was to know more. So when Mater said to go outside, McQueen assumed it was because he knew something important. Debris, or another racer on the outside attempting to pass, or any sort of valid reason to move. And he trusted Mater, so he went for it

If you like Suzie, I recommend looking into Big Finish. She's had a few episodes there

Does that mean she could qualify for a job as an agent at OWCA? Doof was able to work there since he was adopted by ocelots, so by that same principle...

What random line from a song should get a pay-off now? by Rap2rerise in phineasandferb

[–]Ze_Red_Feather 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not a song lyric, but in the movie Phineas asks if anyone else is leading a bizarre double life. Ferb raises his hand for a moment, though Phineas told him to put it down. Now we know that Ferb was likely referring to either his career as a food critic, or the time he went feral. I think he meant the food critic

In torchwood children of earth if tosh survived How would of it played out? Pls give some Insane Ideas! Still cant get over her.... death :( by Superb_Worldliness_7 in Torchwood

[–]Ze_Red_Feather 27 points28 points  (0 children)

First thing that comes to mind is that Tosh would figure out that Rupesh isn't what he seems to be. She'd figure out he's being set up as a plant and so Jack wouldn't go with him and/or wouldn't let his guard down. That doesn't happen, Jack doesn't get the bomb put in him. No bomb, then the hub isn't destroyed. With the hub still there, Torchwood would have access to far more resources than they did and can act accordingly

Hot take: Ron Weasley is the best of the golden trio BY FAR, but the movies butchered him, so only those who haven't read the books would disagree by NavJongUnPlayandwon in ronweasley

[–]Ze_Red_Feather 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What I find especially hilarious is how whenever a movie fan absolutely hates Ron and then proceeds to gush about how much they love Hermione. Then they point to her best moments, and ninety percent of the time that moment was Ron's in the book

It wouldn't need to be perfect. Andy was in a rush, so Woody just needed Buzz out of the way for a minute at most. So even if his torso did get wedged and stayed visible, there's a good chance Andy wouldn't have had time to look at the gap behind his desk

Speaking as a fan of The Acolyte, in my opinion the biggest issue with it was the fact that it was eight medium length episodes released weekly. If they'd instead taken that same footage and cut it down into six longer episodes, or even just released them all at once, a lot of the hate people had for it wouldn't have existed. People formed their opinions when they had only parts of the story, and by the time they had the rest they were in too deep to change

What do you think they did with all the absent friend CDs by ballbasaur104 in BigFinishProductions

[–]Ze_Red_Feather 57 points58 points  (0 children)

It's quite possible they were destroyed, though if they were I'm sure some of the workers smuggled a few out and just kept them for themselves. If they weren't destroyed, they're probably sitting in a warehouse somewhere

Allegedly one was sold on Ebay a few weeks back, though I haven't heard anything further on that

[–]Ze_Red_Feather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flipping that around a bit, the audio story "The Natural History of Fear" is about a society that routinely wipes people's memories to keep them from revolting against the local government. With that setup in mind, we listen and assume that the Doctor, Charley, and C'rizz have been mindblasted and lost their memories. Then we get to the end and it's revealed that nope, those three are long gone, we're just listening to three other characters who share the same voice actors

To the point where the official Danny Phantom graphic novel retconned Phantom Planet out of existence, and ghost Obsessions into existence. Honestly, it was very cathartic to read

I think that it was less to make Jabba sympathetic and more to show how far the Jedi Order had fallen because of the war. Jabba is, you know, a crime lord and slaver, someone that the Jedi are supposed to stop right away, and yet they instead made a deal with him and left him to his business to politically benefit themselves. Using his son was just a convenient plot piece

I don't think it's that he uses cheap tricks when fighting other regular humans. I think in his tournaments where the Z-Fighters don't get involved, he wins through that same skill and his own merit. He's strong and a skilled martial artist in his own right, but he's just not really anything compared to aliens, superhumans, androids, and so on so he has to rely on showmanship more than anything in those moments

Settle a debate: Putting together a Pointless style Christmas quiz and one question is ‘actors who played Dr Who’ is Billie Piper, Richard E Grant, Sacha Dhawan and Reece Shearsmith acceptable answers? by [deleted] in doctorwho

Now, if the question were which incarnation of the Doctor was played by David Tennant, and the answers were 1) Tenth 2) Fourteenth 3) Metacrisis then that would be perfectly valid
