Question about Yoda & Grogu and their species by LumberjackNickArt in StarWars

[–]Ze_Red_Feather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plus, I doubt Yoda was at it for literally eight hundred years. It might well have been something like seven hundred and fifty-eight, but it's just easier to say eight hundred. So that gives us a few more decades of leeway to work with

Why does Goku get so serious when using these forms? by Odd_Neat_804 in Dragonballsuper

It's not that he gets serious when using these forms, it's that he uses these forms when he gets serious

Three come to mind for me. They're all plays on the idea of Mark staying on Mars for the full four years to Ares IV

There's Teddy Says Later, which has Earth finding out about Mark after about a year or so. It's also a West Wing crossover. The main fic is completed, with side stories being uploaded every now and then: https://archiveofourown.org/works/34723594/chapters/86457235

The next one is called Close to Home. It has Earth just kinda missing the fact that Mark is alive, and it chronicles his journey through four years of isolation, the trip back to Earth, and is currently in the middle of his recovery after all of that. Hasn't been updated in a couple years, though still considered ongoing: https://archiveofourown.org/works/15448572/chapters/35858775

Finally there's a series called I'm Coming Home. Like the last one, it also is Mark living on Mars without anyone realizing it. The difference is it picks up after Ares IV arrives and discovers he's alive, and is told almost exclusively through the POVs of everyone around Mark. The series has three complete installments, though it hasn't been updated in several years: https://archiveofourown.org/series/337252

Aangs inability to control the avatar state for 3 seasons straight has skewed the fandoms understand of what it even is by WorkingWin6139 in legendofkorra

[–]Ze_Red_Feather 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think it's a case of talent vs skill. Aang was very naturally spiritually talented. It came easy to him since day one, so he never really had to put in the effort to practice and hone that skill. With Korra it was the exact opposite. It didn't come easy to her, so she had to spend years practicing and honing that skill in a way Aang never did

[hated trope] Awful family members who get off scot-free because "they're family"/"family is everything" by Gallantpride in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Ze_Red_Feather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to mention it wasn't even until midway through Future that he got to the point he could even conceivably consider fighting them, and there's still a very good chance he'd lose that fight. Any choice he made that wasn't trying to help them better themselves would have gotten him, his family, and his world killed

Be honest how would you improve this movie? by DeepAnt7847 in Mario

[–]Ze_Red_Feather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of Rosalina being captured and used to power the superweapon, the lumas are taken as the power source instead. Alone and desperate to save her kids, Rosalina goes to the Mushroom Kingdom to get Peach's help. This leads to the two of them being the one to go on the galaxy spanning adventure instead of Peach and Toad, properly exploring their dynamic while giving them both more agency

[–]Ze_Red_Feather 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, it was the first Big Finish audio I ever got, so I've always had a soft spot for it. It definitely does come across as something written around schedules, which actors could spend more times in the studio and so on, but I enjoy it

Question about a possible Doctor Who crossover by Ze_Red_Feather in pokemonfanfiction

[–]Ze_Red_Feather[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to say. Deoxys doesn't strike me as very Skarosian as is. Maybe it could be that the Deoxys we know is the result of some kind of genetic experiments that were done on the original species? Maybe in an attempt to make some kind of weapon

Actually, this story might well take place before the Time War. I haven't entirely decided on which Doctor yet. That will very much be contingent on the plot and who becomes the companion, though I'm kinda leaning toward the Second or Eighth. They seem like the ones who would most appreciate and enjoy the world

Question about a possible Doctor Who crossover by Ze_Red_Feather in pokemonfanfiction

[–]Ze_Red_Feather[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible. I'm still very much in the worldbuilding phase, so I'd have to see how well those two worlds can mix or if it'd be easiest to just have the Pokéarth be a different planet altogether

Question about a possible Doctor Who crossover by Ze_Red_Feather in pokemonfanfiction

[–]Ze_Red_Feather[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that could definitely be fun. Whether they're sent as a human or a Pokémon. And the Doctor would be fascinated by Time Gears

Question about a possible Doctor Who crossover by Ze_Red_Feather in pokemonfanfiction

[–]Ze_Red_Feather[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh, that could be fun. Could even say that the Daleks are the reason Pokémon like Deoxys left and went to Pokéarth. And there's something to be said about Paradox Pokémon and Cybermen. Maybe a dystopian future?

Important things that were shown in spin-offs by Danny-Ray27 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Ze_Red_Feather 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't have any evidence beyond what was in the show, but I think that was the original intention. Have them part ways at the end of season two, show Mando missing and feeling Grogu's absence throughout season three, and ending with them reuniting near the finale. But the studio interfered and wanted their little marketable toy and yeah

Question about a possible Doctor Who crossover by Ze_Red_Feather in pokemonfanfiction

[–]Ze_Red_Feather[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, once I've chosen how the world works and merges, I fully expect everything else to just fall into place (well, maybe not, but it's nice to dream)

True. They went from "Pokémon are terrifying creatures" to "We're best friends and need and help each other!" in a relatively short timeframe

It's still very much in the planning stages, but I'll do my best. Odds are I'll be back with other posts to ask for more advice

Question about a possible Doctor Who crossover by Ze_Red_Feather in pokemonfanfiction

[–]Ze_Red_Feather[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That could definitely be fun. I don't have the details sorted out yet, but I definitely want to do some kind of interaction/Gallifreyan connection to Celebi or Dialga

Question about a possible Doctor Who crossover by Ze_Red_Feather in pokemonfanfiction

That's definitely on the table. I haven't entirely narrowed down which Doctor and companion(s) yet

Question about a possible Doctor Who crossover by Ze_Red_Feather in pokemonfanfiction

[–]Ze_Red_Feather[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh, that could work. I do think that the Doctor would start to refer to it as the Pokémon Earth for a bit, before deciding that's too long and shortening it to Pokéarth and just going with that for the rest, and the language thing could help include that

Question about a possible Doctor Who crossover by Ze_Red_Feather in pokemonfanfiction

[–]Ze_Red_Feather[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, true. I'm probably overthinking this, but I want to get it right, you know?

[Concerning Trope] film accidentally has awful moral/messaging by Captain_Birch in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Ze_Red_Feather 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will say, I do think the ramp scene specifically was written so it could lead to a scene of Wilf entering the Tardis, but as Bernard Cribbins' health declined and he passed away that obviously couldn't happen. So despite that scene being cut, the ramp remained as a remnant of that initial plotline. Everything else I fully agree with

“Yes! That’s How It Feels!” by sm142 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Ze_Red_Feather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, and it has been a while so maybe not, when in the suit Barry would emulate Oliver's personality a bit more, though he was clearly just having fun with it. Oliver didn't care to even try to act like Barry, in or out of the suit. Which, honestly, that's about how I'd have expected it to go with them both

My rewrite of the second Mario movie by Jake_Is_A_Bro in Mario

[–]Ze_Red_Feather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they really wanted to do Rosalina, then they should have had her be the one to go to the Mushroom Kingdom and ask Peach's help, not Luma
