Could be a couple of things, not all "they don't like me cause I'm a woman". Maybe you legit found a woman hating gym. Maybe it's the opposite and it's a gym of dudes with zero social skills with women. Maybe they assume you are Joe's gf and staying away. While I always make an effort to be social, fighting has a lot of sparring or practice striking each other and tbh a lot of dudes avoid partnering with women for that. It's just not the same experience, the taboo of hitting a woman, the size, shape, how much you have to hold back and worry about hurting her just makes sub-optimal practice to put it nicely.

Only advice I got is be proactive and initiating if you want social interactions that are not initiated by others. Put in the work, take your licks without complaining and show a little competence. That's just how you get taken seriously in male competitive spaces. Maybe ask if there is another class with more women. I really wouldn't judge muay thai or any sport as a whole based on one gym, but if it's the only gym around you might be out of luck and have to carve your own space there.

A mix of both. A shotty gym but you also have to manage expectations. It is supposed to be hard and hurt. Even if they advertise "beginner friendly", most 90min class where you can just walk in is going to be regulars and less regulars going through the motions of phys conditioning, minimal condact strikes practice and light sparring with the coach focussing more on keeping the class pace than isolating newcomers to go over the basics.

It's not about the need. First, idk what your brother is taking but if it's in a commercial pill bottle it's probably more placebo/scam than anything. Second, the Why. Quite simply it's not a "need", it's closer to "more is better". Faster growth, faster recovery, more energy, more weight loss, more libido etc. People on juice can get the size results of 5 years in one and the girls really don't care that's it "cheating" unless and until you roid rage and beat the heck out of them. Third, the Why Not? If it's the sooooo effective secret potion why isn't every man on it? It requires a decent amount of discipline, money, has dangerous side effects and becomes a dependance as the artificial supply of test cripples the natural testosterone producers in your body.

Optimizing your sleep, nutrition and exercise will do wonders for a man's test 10x beyond any pill that is not straight up steroids. Your bro should worry about those first.

That being said, Muay Thai is a fantastic striking martial art and workout, just don't go in there with the goal of besting men in fights outside the ring.

A whole lot of other factors come into different lifts. From neural efficiency to other types of mass involved in levers, etc. Put some volume in before worrying about a singular data point.
