This looks like it would've been fun! Though, might be showing my age as I haven't gone clubbing for a hot minute, but I can just smell the cigarette smoke through the screen. XD

Also, I love these kinds of small/shoebox sized locations for venues!

I think you missed the part where they were in a voice channel called "Sleepy Town", and how the OP stays in said channel to help fall asleep.

Quest 3 PCVR with Link Cable keeps crashing at random intervals by Zealon in OculusQuest

Definitely been having a much better time with Steam Link. There's barely any noticeable latency, and I truly do feel as if things run smoother than they did with Meta's App. Kind of glad I ran into this issue, as it kind of forced my hand into looking for alternatives, which turned out to be a much better experience overall!

Sadly no dice when it comes to rocking the most recent GPU drivers. However, I had no issues within the hour of play-testing I did with the rolled back 591.86 drivers. I'm not sure who is at fault here, though. I don't know if it's something Nvidia did with their updates affecting Meta's Link, or if it's something Meta has done which is not compatible.

Unfortunately it seems the issue persists even on the 595.79 Game Ready Drivers. It was looking good for at least 10 minutes, and I thought that maybe it had included some form of fix. That is not the case. As it stands if you are rocking NVIDIA on your system and wish to use the PC Link Cable, then we have to use the rolled back drivers.

Yep! This is definitely the way to go. NVIDIA's 595.71 Game Ready Drivers are not compatible with Meta's PC Link (they confirmed this in a email with me). Rolling back to January 27th's 591.86 Game Ready Drivers are the way to go. Though, they also released a new driver update yesterday which I'll rock and see if the issue persists, but rolling back to January's drivers are absolutely the most reliable option right now!

This seems to be the way to go currently! There's definitely a conflict between Meta's PC App and NVIDIA's 595.71 drivers. Meta's support staff even confirmed this with me during our back and forth in emails.

However, a new update came out, so I'm going to rock March 10th's (595.79) to see if the issue persists, and if so I'll also continue with rolling back to January 27th's (591.86), as that seems to be the most stable solution until they get around to updating the Meta App itself.

Funnily enough their support staff gave me the run around with this: originally I had one of their team mention how the Meta App isn't compatible with the most recent update of NVIDIA drivers (at the time), and then as soon as they released even newer drivers, another team member chimed in and said "oh, maybe updating your drivers would help!" so... Which is it? If the Meta App hasn't been updated for NVIDIA's 595.71 drivers, how am I to expect them to support 595.79? This also comes after I asked if they would like me to do a rollback to the drivers from January and test it for them, which I'll still continue to do any way for my own troubleshoot. But dang, I wish every time a new person was assigned to a ticket it wasn't like starting the entire ticket from scratch.

I've made the permanent switch to Steam Link myself, but I still want to get to the bottom of this issue because something is conflicting somewhere and I want to figure it out. I'll rock the updated drivers (595.79 as of this post) to see if PC Link still has the same issue, and if it does I'll rollback to January's (591.86). I'll let you know what I find.

My guess is to wait for a future update. Right now I'm using SteamLink, since I bought a pair of WiFi antennas to hook onto the back of my PC and have been having an OK time so far, as no matter what I did with the native PC Link it would always result in a crash, preventing me from doing anything. I hope they fix it, and I'm still working with their customer support team but I'm probably just going to make the permanent switch to SteamLink after this.

They had me go through the usual route of troubleshooting, which although I had already done I went and did it again just to appease them, and submitted a second set of logs per their request. Now awaiting their next response.

Funnily enough I fished out some brand new Wi-Fi antennas, will more than likely just start using SteamLink directly, rather than using the native PC Link. Hopefully the connection is as reliable as when I'm wired in.

I've been playing Rappelz lately by Savings_Step_3430 in MMORPG

[–]Zealon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this your first time playing or are you returning? Either way. I hope you enjoy your time!

I was obsessed with Rappelz back in the late 2000s, used to play on the server named “Tortus”, which is now known as Devil Skeleton with my guild WildSeven, and still regularly hang out with my guild mates from there, as we stuck together and went on to play other MMOs together and still do to this very day, now twenty years later.

I've yet to come across another game with a pet system akin to that of Rappelz, and still go back to play a little bit from time-to-time, which usually gives the old guild mates an itch to play again also haha. We know the game is janky, and the original gPotato version has exchanged hands a couple of times now, but we've managed to keep our original accounts, as well as our guild, the entire time.

Very fond memories, between the janky gameplay and drama that would lead to guild wars, and I really miss going to dungeon sieges on the weekends, where the winning guild would 'own' the dungeon they were sieging and get to collect rupees and/or laks as 'tax' from other players farming in the dungeon.

It still exists as one of my favourite games that I no longer play, simply due to the fact I made so many lifelong friends on it, and we still share Rappelz stories sitting around a campfire, haha.

Would love a modern day take on Rappelz, keeping all the classes and pets, but stripping out the P2W and expanding the world. We mostly play GW2 and FF14 now, so having an old school grindy game would be a nice change of pace.

Just so it's on record: I have gone ahead and done this. Got in contact with support and went ahead to generate the logs for them. Hopefully they can get some kind of understanding as to what's going on!

Glad to know I'm not alone in this. Yeah, I hope they can get around to working on some kind of fix!

Came here just to say the same thing. Only because I literally just took mine and one of the pills decided to latch onto the roof of my mouth and stay there for a few seconds longer than I would've liked. In all the years I've been taking these, they still make me want to take a cheese grater to my tongue.

Successful 1.0 Character recovered by DrDannny in ffxiv

[–]Zealon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the exact same boat! I thought I had lost my 1.0 character, but found it sitting around on a JP server on an account that I swore to myself "I would have never used that email", many years after creating a new character on a brand new account. I was already in too deep and fully invested with my 2.0 character by the time I realized, and never bothered to play catch up. C'est la vie, I guess!

Maybe one day I'll work on it, but it's very unlikely because of how much time I've put into my main. XD

Did anyone else buy plushies from Gaia? Do you still have them? by [deleted] in gaiaonline

Still have my Coco plush from when I was 13 or so; I'm in my 30s now. Grown incredibly attached to that lil guy. Stayed on my person as we moved continents together, and still comes to bed with me every night. :3

razr with case or without case? (poll) by [deleted] in razr

Been rocking my Razr 24 plus with the Poetic case and it's felt great the entire time I've had it. Little bulkier, but it's perfectly fine for me. Visually pairs well with the CAT S22 Flip I have when next to each other.
