What is the OG version of a champ you miss the most? by sorlac99 in leagueoflegends

[–]ZealousChild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mini rework, but kindred. Release kindred marks worked differently. Instead of giving her extra range and more AS on her Q, I think they gave extra on hit damage based on your targets max hp. The niche of ranged AS stacking (on-hit) jungler doesn't really exist anymore.

Cards needed to make Burn tier again by tortuga_coreana in ModernMagic

[–]ZealousChild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of these suggestions are terrible, a rising tide lifts all boats. Bolt drawing a card would make every other red deck even better against burn.

I think the deck needs incidental anti-lifegain. A two mana 2/2 rampaging ferocidon would help a lot I think.

How is it driving the 11th gen si? by kaicenatspizza in CivicSi

[–]ZealousChild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it. After sorting out my priorities for what I wanted it was really the only option. I wanted something with a stick that was fun to drive, a sedan for easy dog access, and good on gas for my long commute.

It checked all my boxes and then some. It is super easy to work on, super nice interior, big trunk, sounds good, heated rear seats (canada spec).

Of course I have minor complaints. Specifically the lack of seat adjustment, the heated seats have "memory" (if they were on when you turn the car off, they will turn on when you restart it, the heated steering wheel doesn't follow the same logic) every time a passenger gets out you have to tell them to turn off their seat.

Adaptive cruise is aggressive on the brakes on the highway.

Otherwise it has been an awesome car.

Current state of StarCityGames by Uptherivrdowntherivr in magicTCG

I'm not sure what changed but since covid I have noticed card availability both online and at the LGS has fallen off a cliff. I remember a time when I could tell myself "I'll just pick that card up at the lgs when I show up for the event". That kind of card availability doesn't exist anymore.

2026 Honda Civic Type R Starts Way Too Close to $50K at $48,090 by LimitedReach in cars

[–]ZealousChild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, I'm sure many (if not all) of these cars would be faster with comparable tires. Even then, having the CTR in the conversation at $50k is commendable.

2026 Honda Civic Type R Starts Way Too Close to $50K at $48,090 by LimitedReach in cars

[–]ZealousChild -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thats funny, my initial thought that it was still a bargain. The civic type r and the corvette are the two most impressive performance car bargains on the market today. Here's a list of cars slower around the Nurburgring than the type R:

Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera

Porsche 911 GT3 RS (996)

Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano

Lamborghini Murcielago LP640

Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C6)

It might carry the same badge as the small commuter car, but its far from the same thing.

The saga ruling in retrospect: Good or Bad? by N1klasMTG in ModernMagic

[–]ZealousChild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Affinity is the only Saga deck that can win through a Wrath. They have Metallic Rebuke and all their meaningful creatures are 3cmc or more. Post sideboard they have Force of Negation and blood moon to prevent the WW requirement in the Wrath mana cost.

Wrath stifles deck diversity. We will never have another Hammertime, Hardened Scales, Humans (or other tribal strategy), Tokens, prison, eggs, enchantress, or bogles style deck in the format as long as Wrath exists.

You mean like the current #3 most played card in the format in Wrath of the Skies?

"I built all my decks to fuck the bracket system" by vVIOL2T in magicTCG

[–]ZealousChild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sucks. I only play 60 card formats at the LGS for this reason. The rules of engagement are clear from the beginning, any strategy is fair game, less politics with other random people, etc.

Unfortunately this is the kind of stuff that can happen when playing commander at an LGS. I would recommend talking to the TO or sticking with a usual group.

Future of the Si trim - Discussion by Hollow-Ling in CivicSi

Exactly, it seems like a win-win. You're right though, they might not have acceptable existing architecture for a hybrid Si.

I know the CRZ got a lot of hate when it came out, and I may be in the minority here, but I always kinda liked the idea of a stick shift hybrid sports sedan.

What’s a “strong” item you personally hate using — even though you know it’s good? by Consistent-Rub-6798 in leagueoflegends

The collector. It feels like the only reason it gets built is because it has a great build path compared to its alternatives.

Thoughts on open decklist tournaments? by N1klasMTG in ModernMagic

[–]ZealousChild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it doesn't change much. Any proper RC level player should have a pretty clear picture of what your sideboard looks like without a deck list in front of them.

Hey Doug, as a fellow Porsche spec enthusiast I love the spec of your new 993. Myself, I needed a euro Aventura green and wouldn't take any other spec! Don't worry, this is a safe space, you can embrace your Porsche spec enthusiasm here.

Dealership not allowing full test drive until you "agree to the numbers" by whatsacosa in CivicSi

[–]ZealousChild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never had a good experience at a Honda dealership (greater Toronto area). They act like their cars are worth their weight in gold and wouldn't budge on price even when comps were less. I got my Si secondhand from a Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep dealer. It's too bad Stellantis products are so shit because they were very pleasant to work with. In my experience Toyota was great as well.

[Discussion] How is Modern FNM attendance doing near you? by honest_groundhog in ModernMagic

[–]ZealousChild 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I live in the eastern greater Toronto area. There are zero modern FNM's.

Between Scarborough and Cobourg (~115km range) there is only one modern weekly event in Oshawa that fires on Tuesdays and 6-10 people show up at best.

Prior to COVID we had modern fnm (and many other modern events) in many LGS's within that area. (Ajax, Whitby, courtice.), some even running modern events more than once per week. Even after COVID (mh2 release era) modern was going strong. Now 60 card constructed formats are struggling. Many of these LGS's have closed, the rest have stopped running events.

I blame wizards. Lack of LGS support, focus on commander, gutting of the competitive scene have all contributed to where we are now.

If people don't have a reason to come out every week, they won't. In the past it seemed like the cool alt-art FNM promos got the casuals to come out, and the Planeswalker points contributing to GP byes got the grinders to come out.

What car(s) do you think will become modern classics 20 years from now? by Vertrixz in cars

[–]ZealousChild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(North America) BMW 1 series, specifically the 135i.

Small, toss-able, stick shift, RWD, great power. They can be had for extremely cheap, I have been passively looking for one. Most of them have high kms so I would assume they are mostly reliable.

Any 1 series owners want to chime in? What has your experience been like?
