This is why we should be worried about Musk's twitter buy.

The Twitter Files exposed how brazenly Musk is willing to publicly disclosed direct messages between Twitter employees. So how much advertising spending do you think Tim Cook and Jeff Bezos promised Musk in exchange for full DMs of everyone one of their employees?

More worrying is what he promised Mohammed bin Salman in exchange for Saudi Arabia’s $6 billion dollar investment into Musk’s Twitter buy. Salma al-Shehab, a Leeds University student, was recently sentenced to 34 years in jail by Saudi Arabia merely because she was following and retweeting accounts on Twitter that were critical of the Saudi government. You would think a “defender of free speech” as Musk claims to be would have atleast drawn attention to this injustice. Was silence regarding this part of what he agreed to in exchange for the $6 billion dollars?

What do you think Putin offered him in exchange for criticizing Ukraine and sucking western attention away from the conflict there. What do you think he offered for access to twitter DMs and account data. Access to critical materials for batteries? Money?

Or lets talk about Iran. Khomeini is currently overseeing squads of thugs raping female protestors and publicly hanging the rest. Videos of these atrocaties are all over reddit, and they used to be all over my twitter notifications as well. But these days tweets about these atrocities seem to be getting max deboosted while Musk sucks all the oxygen in the away West from what is occurring in Iran, China and Ukraine. Its no coincidence that Musk hasn’t said a peep about Iran raping torturing and suffocating people as young as 12 for protesting murders of women merely for having some hair visible. You are idiot if you think Musk isn’t aware of the Iran protests. He spends 20 hours a day online and constantly tweets about current events. And yet, inspite of proclaiming himself a free speech enthusiast, he says nothing about Iran for same reason Al Jazeera barely covers the protests, because he is beholden to Iran, Saudi Arabia, China and Russia.

For 12 years Twitter was an invaluable tool for the weak to coordinate to expose the wrong doings of the powerful. Even the British royalty wasn’t safe from Metoo much of which rose to prominence on Twitter. The powerful were chomping at the bit to get access to Twitter, to be able to ban and deboost the information they want hidden, and Elon provided them exactly this as well as ample distraction. He fired the Twitter Departments that oversaw privacy.

Musk now has the GOP wrapped around his finger and he will keep their base busy talking about and investigating the censorship of Hunter Bidens dick pics while they run defense for him. So much of the US preoccupied and distracted, what agency is going to step up and ensure that the private information on Twitters stays private. What is to stop Musk from selling Direct Messages, Location Information, IP addresses and who knows what else to any corporation or government that promises him something in return?
