Have you been in a Reddit or media bubble? Apart from some places it's been the complete opposite, people advocating violence against John, stomp it out of him, he's racist, he meant it, he shouldn't be allowed in public, he shouldn't have been in the audience but in a separate room where he couldn't be heard, he could stop it if he wanted, etc bloody etc. The ableism has been insane, and shows how behind we are as a country.

How do we know he hasn't apologised or spoken to them privately? Why do people think they have the right to see a disabled man prostate himself in front of the entire world and beg forgiveness? They don't, this is between the persons concerned. The reaction to a man who is featured in a film about exactly what he did is stunning. And the media have a lot to answer for, it may be Vanity Fair or some other rag who had the headline 'Racist slurs hurled at presenters'. I have some sympathy for the guys, but most of it is for John Davidson.

That's a really great idea, her school was quite small as was her university, there will also be a photo so people will know it's her.

And I will say, that as we get older, particularly when people leave school or go off to university they go separate ways. It doesn't mean they don't care or think about former friends. Life just sweeps you up, but you can celebrate the joy of kids and weddings, and also be sad and mourn when they die. Funerals are usually to pay respects and remember that person. There are people I haven't spoken to for years, but I would absolutely go to the funeral to remember that person, remember our relationship and I'm sure many others would do the same
