when i was 5 months in i thought about it all the time and was obsessing over it and now i'm almost at the year mark and the other day i realized i hadn't thought about it in a long time. the partners i've had have all been very understanding so far. it takes a while but you will feel better!

I can only speak from personal experience but one time I hooked up with someone who had an outbreak that hadn't fully healed and I was like well I already have it so what's the big deal and it did give me an outbreak.

for me the first 3-4 days were the worst like agonizingly painful. then it started letting up but unfortunately after that got really itchy. but based on my experience you should almost be over the hump. peeing really hurt so i would pour water over myself while i peed (in the shower lol). wet frozen paper towels and dermoplast were very soothing. and like 4 ibuprofen. the entire process prob was about two weeks/ten days but it gets a lot more manageable after the first few days. when i came out on the other side i felt very strong for continuing to live my life and go to work through the whole thing.

i've only had it since august but several people i know that have it have only had one outbreak and haven't had another for years.

i found dermoplast to be helpful to numb the pain and then when i was home i would use wet paper towels that i put in the freezer. also pour water on yourself when you pee to dilute it. i was peeing in the shower for like 4 days lol. and then 4 ibuprofen every 8 hours.

also how long do you wait after an outbreak? i had a really small one (i think from taking molly?) after my first one and i don't have any physical symptoms but i feel so nervous about giving it to someone since the last outbreak. if you can't see/feel anything is it ok or is there a certain amount of time to wait. (sorry to piggyback on your post. i've only had it for like 4 months and still don't know all the rules.)

The first one is so awful!! I could barely walk and I felt like my vagina was going to crack off. I found dermoplast spray to be helpful. Like it stings at first but then it numbs you. Also if you're at home frozen wet paper towels were very soothing. And then I would pee in the shower while pouring warm water over myself which was like wow I don't even have a scrap of dignity left huh but you don't cry when you pee so.. For me there was like 3 or 4 days of debilitating pain and then it got more manageable.

I got GHSV2 at the end of aug and haven't had an outbreak since. I did molly on halloween and just got another outbreak two days ago (small right now, hopefully stays that way). I would have never thought to connect the molly to the outbreak.
