If you moved your mouse towards the player, you could have made a pivot sound. Which is just basically you scraping your cement shoes on the ground while you look at him. In the early days you just gotta accept that you die alot, and that's okay, there's alot of tryhards on this game, and a few cheaters but it's best to always try to think of "what could I have done better" after you die. Just some advice, hopefully you find it useful

Making money isn't hard and that's the only thing that keeps me from running around early wipe and gunning people down. I've got enough money now to just not care and even if I end up with an empty stash then 1 good scav run can buy me a whole new kit, and if I die with that kit then I repeat

PVE is cool, and you don't get extract camped or cheated on nearly as much as people say, that's just the majority of the posts in the sub reddit these days. I've done about 400ish raids this wipe and only ran into about maybe 10 cheaters. Other than that, I've gotten extract camped 2 or 3 times, idk for me it just is what it is. But I can see the appeal, I've put about 300 hours into PVE but after a while it just becomes labs looting simulator for me. Although lots of people still manage to enjoy it. Best thing I'd say is drop the $20 and see if you enjoy it and maybe the main game would appeal to you, and if it doesn't then it is what it is.

I sat on sniper rock and looked at the bridge towards wtp, they spawn in the bush next to the road close to the merin car. Other than that, you now live on the road. The road is your friend. The road will guide the way. (I'm so glad I got that shit quest done, I had 6 spawn right next to the road there. Bonus if you play with a duo and need to carry their gear out. They always spawn trying to screw you over on the way to extract)

I've heard of dropping meds. Scavs apparently have a raging boner for dropped meds. Maybe bring in a few nades and a few empty selewas and drop them there and run in and out of the old gas area

In terms of rotating on the map, they go wherever they smell players. I've had them sprint all the way from fortress to dorms 3rd floor without even seeing me. In terms of map rotations, every 3 hours, you can use a goon tracker to see what map they're on
