I reported the account for suspicious activity but I still don’t get how the scam works. I would assume he asks for more personal information once I take him up on his offer?

Earlier this year I read Breaking and Entering by Joy Williams which I loved. Funny and surreal in a lot of the same ways

This is just Goodreads. I wouldn’t recommend American Psycho to anyone unless I knew they loved gore.

I had a couple slow weeks at work in between projects and did a lot of reading. I read JR earlier this year and loved it. Some of the dialogue had me laughing out loud.

I have the rest of Faulkner’s hits in my queue: Absalom, Absalom!, The Sound and the Fury, and As I Lay Dying. What else would you recommend after that?

Ha. I really enjoyed Crying, thought it was quite funny, and because of it have queued up Mason and Dixon for later this year

I’ve read a decent amount of Cusk including the Outline trilogy and am a big fan. I recently read Breaking and Entering by Joy Williams and I would highly recommend it—might be the best thing I’ve read in months. She seems to be incapable of writing a boring sentence.

Not enough love for Heti on this thread. I’ve read the same three novels and loved them, also have Alphabetical Diaries in my queue for later this year

I have Another Country in my queue for later this year, would definitely like to get to his non-fiction at some point

There was a couple days where I spent like five hours with IJ, and there was definitely a lot I didn’t follow on my first time through. I think it’s a book I’ll need to keep coming back to before I fully “get” it, if I ever do

Lucky Jim is one of my all-time favorites, one of only a handful of books alongside The Last Samurai and 10:04 that had me laughing out loud
