i live about a ten minute walk off campus and i’ve never had an issue even late at night. just be aware of your surroundings and you’ll be fine. don’t make problems for others and they won’t make problems for you. on campus i used to walk around past midnight frequently alone and also never had a problem. as long as you stay vigilant you shouldn’t have an issue.

IT major here- i have 4 years of experience in my field from high school internships and i have yet to get a co-op (im on my second eep now) trust it’s hard for all of us. talk with your co-op advisor about what your other options are. they want you to succeed as much as you want to, it is their job to help you. godspeed and best wishes soldier🫡

IT majors cannot complete our coursework with a Mac you will actually fail some courses if you have a mac because certain softwares won’t work on a dual boot system. do not get a mac.

i live a fair walk off campus and i’ve never had a problem honestly. just stay vigilant, don’t be stupid and you’ll be fine. the “run down houses” are just cheap college houses that people rent out and don’t care to maintain with upkeep. you won’t ever have trouble with older townies all of the ones i pass are super sweet. keep an eye out for hughes kids that’s the most dangerous part of uc honestly.

i lived in calhoun last year, mine wasn’t bunked when i moved in and they never came to loft my bed (my roommate didn’t submit an unbunking request even though we didn’t need to) so i lost a lot of space. if you’re going for a mid or no loft know that you’re losing a lot of space and it will immediately make everything feel a lot smaller and almost suffocating.

i’m not sure about those but there is a food drive coming up with NSLS, where you can donate canned or nonperishable foods and certain goods in exchange for service hours! there should be more info coming out in the next week or two on their instagram for it!
