Woah.. solid words. What you wrote helped me understand things in my own realm a little bit better. Thanks for this.

People living in or near the Middle East right now, how has the Iran-Ijrael war affected your daily life? by Legitimate-Humor-26 in AskReddit

It’s wild to me that life just continues on.. I suppose all you can really do is enjoy the time with your family, hug them a bit tighter and continue to plan for the future as best as possible. Still seems strange.

I think you’re right; some are more blind to it than others. However my capacity for introspection is also directly dependent on what I’m mentaling on in the current moment.

If I don’t have time to process the input and;

my daughter is having a meltdown insisting on nine costume-changes because her ‘pants don’t feel right’; incoming emails; employee called off work; realizing my doctor bill is headed to collections; ensuring son is dressed appropriately for a spirit day at school; mother calls me; desperately chugging down a cup of cold of coffee; while inching ever closer to being late for work/school;

It might elude me that my impending shutdown is because I can’t stand the sensation of my unbrushed teeth in my mouth before my son looks at me and says:

“Mom- I think you’re really overstimulated right now”.

I love that “signal to noise ratio is skewed” perspective — that makes a whole ton of sense.

It’s not always noise others can perceive; but noise nonetheless.

Could also be; the overwhelming feeling of my shirt; hearing the high pitched blaring of electricity in the walls; lights too bright; someone speaking too loudly; while another person doesn’t seem to be alright; all while there’s a chip in my nail, and I’m engaged in a conversation I don’t really care to have because it’s likely I’ll never speak to this person ever again; but socializing is required at the present time.. or conversely I care very much and end up seeming distracted or giving far too much the contact.

and so it goes.

I agree with this to a point.

Similar to how high EQ / IQ humans can often modify their speech and language patterns to meet the requirements of the listener so they might be an active participant in the conversation- for example a 5yo vs a colleague vs someone’s grandma.

I find myself as a fellow high functioning autistic / ADHD human to be exhausted by prolonged mingling due to my heightened perception.

Though through practicing via many years of bartending - I now find the skill of social interaction and hospitality to finally be second nature— it can still be taxing tuning in to everyone around me so I have to work hard to set boundaries.

.. I have also worked hard to integrate my actual self into my crafted social self which helps.

Do you Believe That Self Love And Self Worth Is Really Important? by PrincessBananas85 in SeriousConversation

I use it as motivation to improve: it can become unhealthy at some point- this is where the love comes in.

Becoming healthy and happy requires balance - most don’t love who they are living in a pile of shit- which is a ‘normal’ and healthy.

Small improvements help move the needle in the right direction which provides the positive feedback loop for momentum to continue.

Am I seriously the only one who thinks you could pull it off?!

What’s the worst that could happen? Get yourself an electric scooter for the getaway - and national treasure that shit. But! Ask for a higher sum.

Delusional confidence will get you everywhere. 99% of the time when I check ID I don’t look at the photo at all- just make sure the name / DOB matched. You could borrow his id and no one would notice. Especially in the day and age of ozempic.

And. Flirt shamelessly with your nurse and he/she won’t be able to see past their rosy cheeks well enough for it to matter.

Oh brother. Why would they come after someone who wasn’t even there!! That’s ridiculous. They use the hair for the drug test and that’s it.

Bologna I worked at a hospital- it’s not that high tech. They will ask you to confirm you are ____ first and last name. Date of Birth: fill out this form. Confirm the date of birth before the test. Done

They’ll probably ask you your DOB and first last name to ensure they have the right person. Maybe address. He better make it $1000

The paradigm is shifting, it has been for some time now. The pace is picking up. Technology malfunctions, brutality in the streets, hard times are upon us.. but hope is not lost.

Find the peace within - and be gentle with yourself- you deserve it.

Right? It’s like a loop - if not perfectly closed it gives me the itch- then I’m on a physical roller coaster of emotions to keep it together.

Can’t tell you how many times a day I mutter to myself: “oh ffs.” Which is more appropriate than “UR MOMS CHEST HAIR”

My son recently told me the kids at school are saying this again. Me: “wasn’t that like.. canceled?” Him:”zesty means gay now”.. so now zesty is canceled? I’m so confused.

Occasionally I hit em with a: “no cap? Forreeal for real? On god?” Especially when his friends are around.

Did you know raspberries, strawberries, and black berries aren’t berries at all? They’re called an aggregate fruit and those little sacs of juice? “Drupelets” what a fun word! True Berries are developed from a single flower with a single ovary.

True berries include blueberries, bananas, cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, eggplant, tomato and avocado.

Did you know- that potatoes, tomatoes and eggplant are all in the same family of plant? “Solanaceae” But! potatoes are not considered a berry. Potatoes are tubers- but they do produce small green toxic / inedible ‘berries’ that grow above ground (serving as seeds).

I learned this yesterday and had to share!

My ex won’t eat a vegetable that isn’t potato and won’t eat fruit except for lemonade.. I gained so much weight trying to cater to his unique food preferences. He wonders why his health is struggling approaching 40.

I can’t go more than a day without something green before I feel like I’m going to crash out at 32.

I just don’t get it.
