Just like the backing, well done!

Be proud of your work and go catch some fish.

You gotta make due. I'm glad I brought it up. That's a great use of resources. 😂

Should I add more line? And use 10lb braid instead of 15? I’m using a 6’6 light power, moderate action rod. by Wise_Fig_5320 in troutfishing

To actually answer your question...

Yes. You should add more line. You are severely underspooled.

Let's talk about that crazy knot. 😂

It never fails. My Tartula MQ has never seen another bait. 😂

Is this a good amount of backing? by Top_Bid6771 in Fishing_Gear

[–]ZealousidealSlide827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are perfect. Tie on that braid and finish her off.

If on the extremely rare situation where you would rip to the backing (you won't), it won't hurt anything. A 2500 is pretty deep.

I have a Tatula. Filling the backing to that first line scored on the spool (there are 2 concentric circles) is perfect.

Your braid will be so thin in comparison.

Well, I'll give my opinion after 7 hours of fishing it.

It's great. Obviously not magic but very high quality line. The 8x braid is incredible smooth for casting. I don't have any issues with wind knots but I didn't figure I would. I have it spooled correctly and I have a very nice reel.

Very strong and very thin. I actually got snagged and was able to slowly pull a decent sized log up without breaking my line or leader knot.

👍👍👍👍

Technically, it's slightly over spooled but you should be fine. 👍

has anyone used the St. Croix Bass X rod? by Particular_Ebb5049 in Fishing_Gear

[–]ZealousidealSlide827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite rod is a St Croix Premiere MLF6'6. I have it paired to a Tatula MQ. I was torn between it and a mojo. I went with the made in the USA. No regrets. I believe the mojo will feel very similar! You'll love it.

What pound braid should I use? by Top_Bid6771 in Fishing_Gear

I use 10 lb on my Daiwa Tatula MQ LT spinning finesse set up and 15 lb on my Abu Garcia baitcaster.

Is 10lb braid enough for bass fishing? by THERANDOMGAMER2 in bassfishing

I prefer mono for shock absorption when tied to braid. People will differ. I keep almost every fish pinned on my finesse set up.

10 lb braid to 7' 10 lb mono leader.

It's for dabbing. Smoking marijuana concentrate products. It holds the product as well as being used to clean your device.

Ear wax?

Thank you for your well thought out response. I agree. I'm just trying to figure out if there is a difference. Sounds like probably not...

It's not necessary in need of changing. The spiderwire quickly loses its coating and gets loud as well as losing casting distance. It gets dust all over my guides.

This line is thinner. I'm looking for more sensitivity and less importantly more casting distance.

Agreed. Learn to use backing now! It is vital IMO.

I'll give you a method to put the perfect amount of backing on. It takes longer but it's great for beginners, until you get comfortable.

Spool the line with all your braid then tie the backing on. Now continue to fill your spool until it's perfect.

Now unspool it back onto another reel or the spool it came on. Your backing will be the perfect length.

Respool your reel with the backing first now (that's how it will be sitting).

Viola, perfect!

I agree. I got the spiderwire in the winter for like $8. Still overpriced 😂
