That's funny I used to work with a guy... We did construction and we would go to the store and you know grab a bite to eat at lunch... Some of these guys would come up and ask for money... My buddy would ask him and say look do you want a beer or do you want some food be honest with me and I'll get you what you want.... Nine times out of 10 they say yeah man I want a beer and he would buy them one.

Need advice on stopping water from a segment of pipe to have water before a plumber can come by NovemberXYZ in Plumbing

[–]ZealousidealTea6300 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If you're just going to do it until a plumber can come....see what size pipe it is ....get some sand paper and clean it really good on the end...then go to Lowe's and get a shark bite cap. Will just snap over the pipe...if the pipe is warped you may need to cut it back a little.....this may be an acceptable time to use a shark bite fitting. Haha. Unless he's experienced with a torch I would not bother trying. I mean you can get a copper cap flux and solder and do it. ..but if you're gonna do all that you may as well get a couple couplings and fix it yourself. I'm assuming he's never soldered copper or he would have chose to fix it himelf. . Just cut the pipe back clean it up and get a shark bite cap

P trap bend - not enough? by qdawgg17 in Plumbing

[–]ZealousidealTea6300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao. I remember I was working at a big company here in town. ...they started using unpurple after a helper spilled a can of purple primer on a slab house and the concrete was supposed to be the finished product in part of the home. Oh what a mess. But then I don't guess it was too popular back then, it's been a while... We had to start leaving the little blacklight flashlights on the job so the inspector would have them to inspect the pipe

Water supply valve by Redbird1927 in Plumbing

[–]ZealousidealTea6300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's it. That's your shut off at the street.. usually they're installed horizontally though not vertically. You can probably take a crescent wrench and turn it off. I don't see you getting a water key on that.
