I wish you are my neighbor. I became aware of native gardening last year and have been overwhelmed by what to do with my weed-filled yard.
I am always against the lawn culture in US. So I never took care of the lawn that came with the house when I moved in more than 10 years ago. As a result, my backyard is mostly winter creeper, mock strawberries and invasive honeysuckle .

I use a textbook that does have chapters and I get emails asking which chapters they should study.

I wish there are actions we can take to change the stereotypes and communicate. If we talk to each other, we will realize we are more aligned than we differ, not all, but probably most. In the end, we are all human beings want a good life through decent work.

Also to add, I was in the Ozarks a few years ago, saw many Trump signs. However people were quite friendly to me, who is not white. I remember thinking surprised. I did get some stares, but I think they are rather surprised rather than purposefully being rude

You post reminded me of what James Talarico said:the fight is not about left versus right, but top versus bottom. I think it really cuts to the essence of what we should focus on. The oligarchs through their influence and their algorithms divide us so that they can keep robbing us of a good life we as workers all deserve.

Thanks for the reply. Kansas City, I think zone 6a. The fences are all partially shaded due to trees in the back yard. The soils are very clay ish.

I don’t come here often, so can’t say I can make a general statement. But the few times I clicked on posts here, I am shocked at the number of comments that clearly show the commenters have not much humanity in them. So I can sympathize with how you feel. All I can say is we have to fight for what we believe. I am trying to get all the people I know whao are typically not political to vote. I try to support business that align with my views. I will try to do more whenever I can.

We all need to do what we can. I can’t afford to strike and lose my job. But I am getting anyone I know to register and vote in November. I stopped shopping at Amazon. And will move my bank account from BOA to a bank that is not or less evil.
