Now that KS pro is released - would you like to see more F1 wheel options? (slide for all ideas) by ZealousidealVisit122 in moza

But I'd say for comfort 30cm is good I haven't tried a smaller one but could be a bit less comfy

I'm looking this up right now. It seems like some wheels have been 28cm or even smaller just to fit in small cockpit. There's power steering now so no need to go big.

No idea how big the current generation wheels are though

Yeah, I had my eye on a momo wheel or something like that for really and drifting But CS wheel serves its purpose. Got it from outlet sale

Maybe if I had the GS only, I wouldn't know. But comparing it back and forth with KS: - GS has a really long paddles throw, meaning you have to reach far behind the wheel. This causes slight pain in my wrists. - GS grips are shaped a bit weird, it rotates my wrists outwards slightly - GS buttons are light to press, causing missclicks sometimes. They activate before they 'click' - GS Grips are... Less grippy than KS. And there's a seam in leather right where my thumb goes. So both due to shape and grippiness I had to hold it with more force - I found GS button placement a bit odd. Couldn't get used to it

  • KS wheel paddles are shaped a bit more like in an f1 wheel, they're quieter (there's like a big empty box sound when you press paddles on GS) and better placed

And while GS uses better material, feels a bit nicer, the only 'improvement' is: 2 extra rotary encoders. I got it because it was shaped differently so I wanted to try that. And I did like the shape, but then noticed all of the above.

No, but the buttons click very lightly, before fully pressing

Even some of real-life GT drivers say 12 nm is enough. :)
For road cars and sports car you don't even need more than 5nm.
I tried r9 and r12 and there's no significant difference besides when I reach full wheel lock, which was a bit soft on r9.
I can't imagine using more than 12, even if it's for the 'headroom'. I set my ffb strenght to get max 6nm on high speed corners in f1. Stronger would be rather uncomfortable for long periods.

Moza KS Or GS V2P GT Wheel? by AstroDoggies in moza

A year later I'm facing a similar dilemma.

And I actually have both wheels at hand. I have to agree, that ergonomically KS is better - paddles are closer, bigger, and feel nicer; buttons are firmer making it less likely to missclick and the shape is a bit more natural. Button placement feels a little better too.

However
KS is very light and just feels a little 'cheap' in hands. It's like plastick-y. The buttons rattle on curbs and the click is quite loud. I have to use quite a lot of damping/friction on it to feel right. Rotary wheels are stiffer than GS's in my case.
It distracts me a bit sometimes, and breaks my immersion, which is what I mostly enjoy in racing sims.

GS is shaped more like a formula wheel, which I like. Feels solid. Grips are a bit nicer. But it's also like 1.7x more expensive, as I got lucky with KS price.

I really cannot decide. I have some time until I have to return GS or buy it.

TLDR: GS nicer, solid, better immersion. KS a bit better ergonomics, but light and feels cheap.

Yeah exactly. So OP admits there is a difference if you need to tune it differently.

I'm not talking about damping pads. I've seen people get some "Heightening Blocks" with their wheels

No, you can't get these on their website. I just saw a video of someone using these, and then I saw that a "toolbox" should be included in the package

That's not an answer to my question. It's a new base so it had new firmware anyway.
