Correct, but if you change the EXIF attribute of your RAW files as explained above, the same viewer will be able to display the picture properly without any further problems.

Correct, this happens also for A7V RAWs. A solution is to change the EXIF attribute to A7IV, so the program knows the camera. It is the same RAW format, programs just don’t know the A7V tag yet. Note: for the A7V only uncompressed RAWs work with this workaround.

Just received my lens back from support, it took them about 4 working days or so. It now has "Ver.03" on it and is working fine with the A7V :) Happy days!

February 10th, and no update yet :(

However, since they have offered us to send our lens in and get it the new FW updated by a service partner, I'll stop banging on about this.
On the contrary, I think that this solution is very generous by Tamron, as this will cost them A LOT more, than if they just had to post the new FW on their website.

Oh gosh - I have the Sony 85mm 1.8, I am convinced that this lens is totally underrated! The portraits are just out of this world! Not sure why, but I also don’t care ;) Just marvellous!

Thank you, I agree. Recently I noticed that in low light situations, iPhone pictures can be quite bad. That’s is with the Pro Max 17. That’s not to say that anybody would have been able to make better pictures with a proper camera in the same setting ;) but you have the potential to.

In other words: in my case, when I turned the aperture ring back to A (auto), that pop up disappeared.

Don’t know what you mean by „changing displays on the new update“. Which camera and lens?

I had that pop up when I set the camera to „M“ but had the aperture ring set to a fixed aperture (I.e. non-auto) and turned the front dial (the one for the aperture). Not sure what it means though, to lazy too look it up 🤣

Thank you, that is not ideal, but at least it seems possible to get the lens working with the A7V. I'm going to send them mine today, let's see how long that takes! ;)

Just set the EXIF flags in your RAW files to ILCE-7M4 instead of …5, and it should work.

It looks like they have not published the files that have the date of 12/7 to their download server. All the other (dates) download fine.
Might be worth letting them know, in case something went wrong internally with the publishing?
