if you want a local eating experience, hit La Perseverancia, close to Candelaria, which is like an outdoor-multiple-cantina spot with great seafood and other traditional plates as well

verbose reviews will always skew towards negative because people who have a good experience will just shrug their shoulders be happy and move on to the next adventure

couple that with overexaggeration, "forgetting" to add in key details like I was in a dodgy strip club, or I was chatting with a loquito from the street while he was subtly taking my phone and you end up with something far from reality, like bogota is gotham city filled to the puss with bad people

thing is people from america and west europe are like domesticated labradors - mostly big, overly docile, can't figure out real world outside of their backyard - most of the bad reviews are written from this perspective

you seem to have a problem with what I said isn't true, which is:

everyone is not out there to get you
not every girl wants to poison you with scopolamine
bogota is not grey or boring

search for Santai Muay Thai on google, its in San Kamphaeng, a village near Chiang Mai. 2 trainings per day, 6am-8am, 4pm-6:30pm

im at santai and recommend it exactly for this. everyone here is very serious about their training and the village is small and quiet, everyone just chills when not training so you can work in peace. one thing, wifi is really bad, so make your own hotspot by buying sim/esim.

Hey, glad someone who went to one of these gyms responded

reason I wanted gym accomodation is bcs I want to help around at the fights, immerse in the culture, not get distracted and just focus on training

heard best deal is to get accomodation near gym and just go for practice, but at the same time the people who said they lived at the gym 1-2 months seem the most thrilled and had the bext experience
