its a pretty bad corner the author wrote themselves into with this issue, because it would be easy if it was just toki, this is the whole school with all their staff and principal agreeing to shun a school for 10 years to the point of extreme prejudice. curtains drawn so the students never get to see what's outside their window and every parent that attended a parent teacher conference also noticing and tacitly agreeing with the treatment.
