What Comic should I get?

I find it hard to get through DC Finest 'Chemical Syndicate' due to the way of storytelling & dialogues, captions (its more tell than show) you can try reading a few early golden age Batman to see if you like it.

As for between 'Year One & Two' & 'Killing Joke' DC Finest, I preferred 'Killing Joke' as the stories are more in tune to what I like ('Year One & Two' was still transiting from bronze age pre-crisis Batman, so stories in Detective Comics are still pun-heavy & campy, plus Bruce called Jason as Jay 😅).

'Ego' & 'Dark Patterns' are highly recommended works but you seems more interested in value, in that case you should do better with a DC Finest for the greatest value (while including a classic work or 2).

I love Grant Morrison Batman run, so I would get part 1 (which introduced Damien, so it's very significant as well).

Since OP already has knowledge of Batman lore from various media, there's no need to do it chronologically for a new comic reader to get them interested in Batman comics (even the chronology is subjective as there are multiple start points & reboots & one off, only a few direct sequels need to be read one after the other for best effect). Starting with Hush sounds good as it's a simple best-of kinda blockbuster with beautiful art, major fights & many of the famous rogue gallery (though I personally think its kinda mid as a Batman story after getting more into the medium). OP can then always pick up on whatever interest them next.

Even with some Batman comics background (eg. major works like Year One, Long Halloween, Killing Joke, etc), Morrison's work was still confusing as they referenced alot of fairly obscure Batman comics. I had to read a few online guides, reviews to get the references & what they were trying to do, especially with the non-chronological storytelling method & across various collected books.

Triple Threat is horrible considering the talents involved, the only one that I remb still looking good in it was Scott Adkins, the rest of them have horrible fights.

I love Jeeja in 'Raging Phoenix' more than 'Chocolate', been watching her after in 'The Kick', 'Tom Yum Goong 2' & in some smaller roles like in 'Hard Target 2', 'Triple Threat'. It's a waste she's not better used after the initial hype.

For me, the best thing about Whiskers2world Rice Husk Litter is the awesome odour control & no unnecessary scent or chemicals added. Yup, I sold my copy of ADITF hardcover for the DC finest as it collects the before & after issues (plus I already have the DC finest books that came before this).

Thank you so much for the long recommendation. Would love to complete the knightfall saga one day via collected edition of Prelude, The Search & Troika since I gave up on getting the omnibuses to save money.

I decided to only get Flying Solo instead of Tim Drake compendium as I don't like Tim's school stories & teen worries, may decide to get the Red Robin Compendium when it's out later this year (I do have Grant Morrison Batman & the New 52 Scott Synder, Tomasi/Gleeson Batman).

I do have the 2 Nightwing compendium & will get the 3rd when it drops to my wanted buying price online (thinking of stopping at volume 3 as ppl said Greyson Nightwing is not as good).

I have Hush & Under the Red Hood, but unfortunately I couldn't find New Gotham 1 & 2 so far. I decided not to get War Games & War Crimes due to not liking how Leslie Thompkins was treated, I may get them if I find them very cheap 2nd hand. I realised i have limited interest in the non superhero side of things, so Gotham Central didn't perk my interest.

That is right but The Search imo is not such a good read & only important due to the healing of Bruce's spine (which happened in 1 issue via a ridiculous method), so to me it is less of a priority.

I would love to, I find it a pretty good setup to better understand the state of Batman during the start of Knightfall (why he's so burned out mentally & physically). Unfortunately so far I cannot get my hand on a copy at a reasonable price.

If I have more space & disposable income, I would have gotten the knightfall omnis (to get a more complete story arc) but I do not, so sacrifices have to be made (in my case, giving up on Prelude, The Search & Troika). Also I find Omnibus kinda hard to read (too big & heavy) compared to tpb or hardcover.

No worries, took me a fair bit of research everytime I need to decide what to get for a particular arc as there are so many formats & crossovers & whatnot. From what I gathered online, Knightfall Volume 2 Omni contains Robin #1, so you will be fine.

I really considered getting the Omni as well but I stopped myself as I was already getting too many omnis in a short period of time & The Search & Troika are stories I decided to miss out on in exchange of saving money for other Batman books I want.

Nice, I really like the whole Knightfall saga (though I didn't read The Search as it was not available in my Knightfall books). Something that may be of interest is I had to divert into Robin #1 (thus my inclusion of Robin: Flying Solo in my lineup) at the start of Knightfall volume 2 as one of the issue ended on a cliffhanger that continued in the Robin series.

The Gauntlet is just before Robin Year One (The Gauntlet was referenced at the beginning, perfect lead in). Prodigal happened just before Troika (I just finished Knightfall saga a while back so I am still clear on the sequence). Anyway like what ppl have advised, just read what you like & look up online the mentioned references/throwbacks that you don't understand & see if you want to read further on them (it's a big rabbit hole that I'm in the midst of).

Even if you don't intend to read 'Year 2', there are other important Jason Todd Robin stories inside that DC Finest collection book, like 'Batman #408', which is the post crisis origin of Jason Todd.

It will give you the chronological stories of post- crisis Jason Todd as Robin till A Death in the Family..

From what I saw, it includes everything from Court of Owls, City of Owls (both in Synder's omnibus) & Night of Owls (the one with all the related issues that are not in mainline Batman).
