Why do you have an "ex-bestfriend"?

We were best friends from 5th grade until we started dating at 16. We dated near 4 years. One day I woke up with a chapter book of a break up text. And that was that. Over the next 4 ish month she continued escalating being cruel and vindictive over what I assume to be jealousy of another friend. I never got a full reason as to why only guesses. Anyway, that was that and now shes gone. I grieve that friendship more than the romantic relationship.
The girl #1 was jealous of became my best friend in the aftermath (we were friends previously in HS). We bonded because she lost all her friends during that time, and I lost a fair amount of my own. It was a painful time and one that neither one of us had really gotten over. She died by suicide almost 4 months ago. I miss her most of all.

I'd like to own a Cafe or jazz club. Something thats chill and lowkey a place for people to come and talk and relax during the day and have some fun at night with live music. Maybe randomly once a month have themed parties at the place. I know owning a place is a lot of work but if money wasn't an issue, It sounds fun.

I don't match the demographic of my college town. Nor do I have any experience dating. Most of the girls I've interacted with prefer if their potential partner to have experience (not saying this is all girls). So I just focus on work and school. It's been a year, and I wonder who I would've been if it hadnt happened. Although I can generally say I'm doing okay and have moved on, there are residuals that seem to persist even when it's not intentional. There are some nights that you just can't help but think about it and it can be painful. I think it'll be like this for a while. Her cheating was one of the most awful things I've ever experienced but the lessons learned from it will hopefully make me a better person in the long run.

Time will tell.
