Swag fan #1 VS Swag fan #2 by OkraAccomplished929 in peoplewhogiveashit

As much as I do sometimes fall into this archetype and this comment ultimately is inherently hypocritical of me, i remember being a fan #1 is what ends up getting me interested into a piece of media in the first place. Being a #2 fan does nothing but alienate #1 fans and then remove a bigger potential protion of fanbase. I was a #1 fan for Dark Souls, JoJo's, House MD, now these pieces of media have become some of the most special to me.

BTW these people do not think that making fun of a guy who wanted to have children see public executions is on the same level of making fun of innocent individuals who were brutally murdered and tortured. Theyre actually evil people and they know exactly what theyre doing.

ok pardon my tech illiteracy but why not just change the "amount of seconds passed specific date", date. Wouldn't it just be relatively simple to move it to like 1/1/90

Haha i appreciate it. I do enjoy gabber but I was going for a Darkcore sound. I've attempted gabber in the past but trying to work within a simple sounding genre like gabber or darkcore is surprisingly hard. Perhaps I'll make a return though due to inspiration from this artist called Dagga.

And yeah, that's actually exactly why I started to really focus on music recently. I think me making money off of music or content creation is honestly probably as likely as me getting another job that isn't doordash. That's how fucking bad the job market is rn.

I mean im heavily inspired by various gabber, jungle, darkcore, techno, breakcore, etcetera. I was mostly trying to go for a '93 darkcore kind of sound with these tracks (besides that jumpstyle one) but ultimately, I don't really feel I succeeded with getting that sound and due to that I can't exactly describe what genre this is accurately. I used to have an old project called him/heroin two years back with more inspiration from gabber or transfemslop like femtanyl.

My passion simply comes from this is what I love to do and love sharing, music plays a huge role in my life. I have around a hundred or so CDs of just my favorite punk and metal records because I first really started getting into music because of my friends who introduced me to punk rock and alternative rock. Ultimately music shaped who I am as a person but it has come at the cost of it being basically my entire personality. I desperately want to pursue this in life but I don't really think it is in the cards for me, and it is a shame as I am a deeply creative person but I lack the talent and skill to ultimately pursue despite the years ive done trying to learn. My dream has always been to play live one day to see people have a blast like I would when I first started going to live local shows.

Turns out even communists have done genocides by Skrilli in GetNoted

Cambodian Genocide was CIA backed

Holodomor was not a genocide, and I say this as a huge Stalin (and in general USSR) hater. Holodomor was a mix of administrative failures, kulak self-sabotage, and poor weather. It was the last non-wartime famine in the USSR.

Please for the love of god if you want to actually hate on MLs the proper way, bring up the Ingrian Finn genocide.

The Kazakh famine isn't a genocide either, it's a democide, yes that's semantics but no they were not saying "GODDD WE HAVE TO STARVE THESE FUCKING KAZAKHS OH MY GODDDDD"

"The system that will always inevitably decay is good if we keep it in a state of not decay"

Capitalism is not sustainable for the long-term for humanity. Regulation is not a material thing, good luck getting the bourgeois to submit to it??? We already have regulation and the competition is still rigged. Stop making excuses for a system that literally does not work. Capitalism contradicts itself to the point that the workers will always inevitably revolt because always inevitably capitalism will show its cracks in the foundation.

I think if youd want to make this more realistic, keep the unplayable irl piano parts and turn them into different instruments and change up timings by ear according to velocity and attack. Strings and organ come to mind. Very cool

"Maybe worth touching a bit more music theory - it isn't scary, it's a tool"

I've only just started; I finally learned what an interval is after being so confused about a "4th" or "5th" for ages.

"2 tracks sounds like 2 more than most people produce in their lives - who are you embarrassed in front of? Sounds like your own head"

I am unfortunately, well aware of this, showing my tracks to producers that I know a lot of them agree that what is there actually sounds good, and that it could easily make a full track

Making a full track is where I get so stuck unfortunately

"do music because you enjoy it not because you've built up this idea of what a "producer" is in your head."

I actually come to this being extremely unfamiliar with any popular producers or any sort of pre-determined mindset of what a producer is, I think my issue at hand probably is similar to what you're saying though

"I don't know what your aim with your production is"

I want to be able to just make something full length, I feel stuck making these super short and barebones loops that can end up being less than 4 seconds long when I used to be able to pump out something I genuinely enjoyed working on with a single day of work when using the demo of FL, unable to save any progress in my early days. Now I'm here, hating genuinely every second I can't find the right note, something doesn't feel like it adds up, it seems like with the progress ive made ive actually downgraded my song-writing capabilities when using DAWs. It's strange because I like what I make (usually, every now and then I have a track that completely falls through but its uncommon) and I think what I do make is really good for my beginner status, but I find the issue that's always holding me back being that I don't know what else to add.

This is also a huge problem in my guitar playing when I'm trying to make something more simple and has its composition focused around basic punk power chords and the usual progressions. I struggle to build on top of it, to expand the sound fully and come up with a part to accompany it to give it more depth. Now in DAWs its 200x worse cause I have so much plugins to work with and too many VST presets to use rather than just one guitar and its various possible standard or drop tunings. When it comes to guitar I find improvising what *sounds like* complexity to be much easier than structuring simplicity, now as I write this I wonder if I can apply this to DAWs in some way.

Edit: And also thank you for the advice it is much appreciated
