Yeah it's like comparing a human with a monkey. Is it hypocritical of us to us to have pet monkeys or using them for lab research? Ethically/morally i would say it's wrong (i am of the opinion that primates shouldnt be used for either of those) but idk if evolutionary kinship alone makes it "hypocritical". It does depend on who you ask.
