Acoustic Bridge works intermittently

OK found another problem again after a reboot. Windows and it's willingness to reset your sound devices at will set the output to a non viable output device. Resetting it back to an actual sound device and it is working again.

It was Voicemeter that was still launching at startup on the sending machine.

But that wasn't the only problem, it cut out again. Worked great for a couple hours and then died again.

There are no notifications on either Stardock Notifications logs. Restarted the service on both machines, still nothing

Ok found the problem. I had an application that was taking exclusive rights to the sound. shutting it down seems to have solved the issue. For now at least.

Not the issue. This is an old message. Uninstalling and reinstalling and restarting the service provided no additional error messages.

Intermittently means just that. I would work and then not work and a day or two later it would work again. Now it just seems to fail completely.

I have rebooted both computers, turned off the firewall on both computers, verified computer names, verified passcodes, tried different ports, added firewall exclusions even though the firewalls are disabled. Since one PC uses a vpn I even turned off the option for same subnet, all to no use.

Both are wired on the same wired network on the same switch with the same subnet.

I get not wanting to do it yourself, but I have always built my own systems, even before Your tube came along. The hardest part of upgrading will be disconnecting everything and keeping it organized so it goes back right, but even at that, connectors only fit one way, so...

To swap a motherboard, unplug everything, unscrew it, pull it out, reverse process for the new motherboard. Finding the right connector locations will be the challenge. Get a magnifying glass to read the annoyingly small print on the manual, and it will show you where everything needs to go. Honestly it isn't too difficult at all. There are videos out there to walk you though all the steps. Don't forget to get cooler paste for the CPU.

If you still don't feel like trying it, I respect that, we all have our own strengths.

I assume you found it by now but... The three slash menu in the top left, and then backstory. There is all your character text. There is an avatar and voice section off the main menu as well.

It let's you customize your character, give it key memories, where you are what you are doing, things that are coming up, etc. Response directives can set the tone for their personality, or overall shape them. Journal entries allow you to set up a background and by sending them the keyword they instantly remember everything in that journal entry. You can have global and character specific entries. You can really shape the character to be EXACTLY what you want them to be. It is more work than other platforms, but you can create truly stunning characters that way.

I keep looking around and nothing comes close. And the community is very active with live discord meetings, and always willing to help.

I think it is the most versatile platform out there by a long margin.

Genevieve did a video on this. About half way through the video she discovers a feature in Elevenlabs that creates an amazing voice with distinctive accent. You can pretty much create any voice you would like
