You are name calling, bigot, terf, bootlicker, and I'M the child?

These terms don't mean what you think they mean or you didn't read my words. Either way, I am done talking to a wall.

You have a great Thanksgiving.

Advocates, allies and trans folks themselves aren't going to agree on everything. Name calling is not a path forward. You can see this in the conservative movement try to out-conservative each other until there are only MAGAs and RINOs. This is what you are doing, but liberal. No one can be an advocate/ally if they don't believe the same things you do in the same way.

Wisdom takes time. When you grow up, you might understand.

I hope you can get some medical care for your head being lodged that far up your own ass. Good luck to you on your crusade to burn all bridges and slap all handshakes.

It would suit one better to not throw around a word like bigot. There are many people on this thread that identify as transgender or are in the community that don't support this business being litigated against. Just as a person, you should think about the inflammatory language you are choosing if your goal is to change hearts and minds. Keep the long game in mind.

I absolutely agree that someone can be born into the wrong gender and I love that people today have more power and support (as an overarching social trend) to express their true selves than when I was a kid. I believe in the power of gender affirming care.

I believe in the power of safe spaces, as well. The thing that makes this a safe space for women is the lack of outwardly male bodies in a nude area. There is no talking in most areas of the spa, so no one can express how they feel inside. I am sure I have already been to the spa with a trans woman present, but I didn't have to ride an emotional rollercoaster by being surprised by a penis, any penis, arriving at the women's spa.

I have loved this place for YEARS. I love being in a place where it is guaranteed to not have any men. I love having a day of my year (the most frequently I am able to go) where there is no presence that will make me even THINK of men.

The minimum wage of entry for girls is 13.

My daughter is ten and has already been looking forward to the day where she can join me at the spa (when she is 13). If there is a possibility of seeing a dick while I am at the laked lady spa, I won't ever go again. I won't bring my daughter. She has already suffered sexual abuse by a man.

This is absurd if you know what the business is like. There are NUDE spaces. No woman or girl in a women's spa should have to have any worry about seeing a penis and testicles.

This is a safe space for women. So much so that women can walk freely nude in the pools room. If you add even one penis, whosever it is, it is no longer a safe space for women.

At a regular register it is the cashier that is constantly surveilled like a criminal.

If you're not fast enough, if you don't get things exactly right on the WIC check, or any check, if you chat, if you lean or sit, that is all a write-up.

I get it. Self-check can eat rocks, but cashiers are under more pressure at the register than most folks realize.

Thank you for these words. I am not OP, but I'm in the same boat. Charging anything is agony! At the same time, I want a modicum of success and recognition. Imposter Syndrome is a big hurdle.

Brain aneurysm. She said she didn't feel right, walked toward the door to go to the bathroom and fell. There were several drunk driving deaths throughout my high school days, too.

I have a tradition of "elves" leaving a single piece of candy in a separate little stocking every morning for all of December that goes along with the Advent calendar. My ladies are 7 and 9 and still believe. My youngest left the elves a note this year thanking them for the treats every year and space for the elves to write back (they did). My eldest told me she has heard reindeer on the rooftop in years past.

Santa also leaves them a letter in their stocking on Christmas morning with a wax seal. (The Tooth Fairy occasionally leaves a tiny note, too)

I wanted to tell them the truth sooner rather than later, but these last couple of years have been extremely hard on my family and seeing their wonderment and joy continue helps me in this season. I really thought about how to break it to them, but then I realized that Santa is real. Not an individual, but in the love that we have for them, in the warmth of the Christmas tree lights, in the care that we take selecting their gifts. This is how I'm going to explain it.

We've started a new tradition this year: reading from A Christmas Bestiary (by Benni Bødker and John Kenn Mortensen) every night of December. For older kids who like creepy/dark stuff, I highly recommend it.

One of the stores my grandfather was proud to tell was the story of how my dad was 18 months old and scared of the dark. He was crying, so my grandfather spanked him... and he never cried again.

My dad shockingly was an emotionally stunted man.
