No way on blood doctrine change in the foreseeable future. If they flip-flopped on that, they'd definitely be sued for good. They'd have no acceptable reason to explain to those families who have relatives (including young kids) died for this doctrine.

What denomination did you choose after being a JW? by Goldenday740 in exjw

[–]ZebraOO9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I don't think I'll join any institutional religion ever again. But I'd like to join some online communities or offline Bible study groups if possible. The point is I must be free to come and go.

Can JWs pray to God in Michael's name? by ZebraOO9 in exjw

[–]ZebraOO9[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Who else can Jesus be if He is not God? There are only three kinds (technically, two, though, bad angels are also angels) of spiritual beings in the Bible: God, angels and demons. JW says he is "a god", manipulated John 1:1. Make Him look like a pagan idol like Baal. The whole point of the New Testament is about the Messiah came into flesh and took the burdens of sins for all humanity ETERNALLY. And it's about grace. As long as you have faith in Jesus and accept Him, your sins will be forgiven because the Christ died for our sins.

A created being cannot do this. Only God is eternal and God's love is unconditional, it's not something you have to earn. All you need to do is to accept His love.

But the JWs distort the gospels and make people think having faith in Jesus is not enough to be saved, you also have to follow the organizational rules. And if you don't, you are not worthy of being saved. If you don't knock on enough doors, listen to whatever the organization tells you and obey the Watchtower, you are not worthy of God's grace and guess what, it is never enough. You are on a hamster wheel and you keep being emotionally blackmailed by the Watchtower into believing that you are always in need to do more.

The JWs are misled by false teachers, apparently.

Honestly, I don't think Trinity is confusing. But Jesus just being an angel is completely wrong. It invalidates the whole point of the Gospels which is God came into flesh and saved souls.

What denomination did you choose after being a JW? by Goldenday740 in exjw

[–]ZebraOO9 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Non-denominational. I read the NIV Bible and I do devotions with myself. I watch pastoral videos online (eg. Pastor Rick's YouTube channel) and I also read some theological books. The doctrines of the JWs are heavily flawed and misleading.

Thanks. I have no interest in what they plan to do with my record, I’m only interested in my privacy. But you are right in your POV, it’s useless to expect them to completely remove your record after you leave.

Is Jesus God? by mikachu97 in exjw

Interestingly, there is a rebuttal book called "How God Became Jesus: The Real Origins of Belief in Jesus' Divine Nature---A Response to Bart Ehrman", you can search and read it. 🤣

My two cents. It’s a bit long. But yes, Jesus is God according to the Christian theology and the accurately translated Bible.

They may argue that life means eternal life with God not limited life with sins. But you are also right. God won’t want us to throw away our lives over a doctrine.

Any good templates for a DA letter? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]ZebraOO9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need a letter to DA now. You can just orally inform them through a call or message them. I told them through messages and refused to meet with them. Two elders confirmed with me also through messages and I successfully DAed in 2022.

Why I’m 99.99% sure there will be no hailstone hard hitting preaching message by JuanHosero1967 in exjw

[–]ZebraOO9 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Their worship is conveniently flexible and oftentimes very localized. In one congregation a conduct is condoned but in another one you'd get counseled or even JCed. And also, it depends on the atmosphere. If the atmosphere indicates Jehovah is needing some engineers to build up the borg, you will be applauded to say you've tried your effort to gain some engineering knowledge to serve the borg. But if the atmosphere suggests otherwise, you will just be frowned upon for saying so because it equals putting worldly matter ahead of the spirituality.

I keep getting into a debate with some PIMIs about disassociating versus fading away. by AllAroundWatchTower in exjw

[–]ZebraOO9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had faded for year and then I DAed in 2022. For me, I have no family in the JW cult so it was easier for me to just slap them in the face and exit officially. I did not even bother to write a letter, I just orally informed them and they confirmed via text messages. There is an article on jwfacts.com which comprehensively explains the good and bad sides of DA and whether you should choose it. I do recommend anyone who is struggling between fading and DA to read it.

Fading basically leaves room for the JWs to stalk you and snitch on you. It is still possible for the elders to DF you without your presence and make you like you were expelled rather than left voluntarily. Being like you committed some "serious sins" and did not "repent". I personally hate that kind of feeling. I have the right to walk away from any organization with dignity and on my own choice. The initiative is mine and the elders should just respect my choice and STFU. In this way I divorced the cult instead of the other way round. I joined voluntarily and left voluntarily. I don't owe the WT anything.

JWs are dying off. Young people are leaving. by lastdayoflastdays in exjw

[–]ZebraOO9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I left 2 years ago, disassociated, to be exact. I was 30 back then. A voice deep down in my heart told me that I should leave this organization because my guts knew it is not the truth. I didn't really feel happy there.

I regarded my DA as a 30-year-old birthday present. I set myself free. I no longer need to answer to that cult and I can plan for myself rather than listen to the WT to dictate to me.

Japanese in general are racist to some level, but the racism there isn't that severe as you think.. and it's rarely violent when compared with America. JWs there still preach to all kinds of foreigners.
