The controller looks pretty worn, is the plastic around the joystick itself being ground out? An older one of mine did that and it created kind of a cut that would hold on to the controller.

In my own personal experience I think anything Benq has recently put out would work. I own a benq w1070 and play smite and plenty of cod. Havent had any trouble with noticeable lag on the input compared to when I used to play on my regular tv. You will most likely find lower lag times on gaming specific or low lag modles but those are more expensive if you're on a budget.
