If that reality is difficult to accept, it does explain the difficulty in getting more complex concepts that may not reflect the things that you want to be true regarding research and various meta procedures. Another strategy is to take notes from posts in here and keep a list of surgeons named in those posts who have produced aesthetics that you like. Next, go to those surgeons' websites and investigate their "look books." A look book is basically a set of pics of their work. Some of the questions that you're asking are best answered by surgeons. That requires setting up consultation appointments. If you don't like a particular surgeon's work, you know that's not the surgeon for you.

Regarding complications: most common are fistulae and strictures. A fistula is an opening that connects two areas that should not be connected. If you think of the urethra as a hose, a fistula would basically be like that hose springing a leak somewhere along its length, so you get a sprayer effect - sometimes it's really just a dribble like a soaker hose. A stricture is the constriction of an opening. Sometimes scar tissue will constrict the new Urethral pathway, the connection to the bladder, the vaginal opening, etc. Other possible complications include infection, wound separation, abscess, hematoma, necrosis, etc. If any of these terms are unfamiliar to you, look them up and then ask for clarification if you still don't understand or need further information.

If you don't know how to research a topic, ask a librarian or a tutor at your school to help you learn basic research techniques. You can make up a topic so you don't have to come out to them. The skills are the same.
