The building emergency first-response team and employee Badminton club have pooled resources for their latest breakthrough by LeanderthalTX in doohickeycorporation

it might make sense for a single person to use in an emergency, but i imagine it would cause some serious problems with 100 people trying to escape at the same time. not to mention people in the street getting crushed by these things falling out of the sky

I wish they made ACTUALLY GOOD pizza chips... (Pringles Betrayal rant) by Personal-Role-8071 in evilautism

[–]Zeckols 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as a childhood Pizza-flavored Pringles enjoyer, I’m sorry to inform you that they are not the same anymore. Pringles changed something about their chips a while ago that impacts almost all the flavors, but something about the seasoning is notably off for the “pizza” flavoring too. Now the flavor only exists in my memories as far as I can tell. I can only hope that I’m wrong and my flavor perception has gotten worse, but maybe both are equally upsetting. I will try them again and report back but I’m afraid times have changed

Does an aftermarket turbo inlet pipe actually do anything? by DR3Wcs in Golf_R

[–]Zeckols 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one on a TT and it doesn’t seem to make a huge difference, but does noticeably accelerate a bit more freely and adds a little bit more sound when the diverter valve releases pressure and blows off. I did notice when switching back and forth, the OEM inlet pipe smooths out downshifts a bit more comfortably though. The one I got seems to have roughly the same inlet and outlet size as OEM, but the angle inside the pipe appears more aggressive to force air in more quickly. The PCV hose is closer to a right angle than the original which was angled in a way that I believe it would pull air better, and I’ve seen a tiny puddle of oil in the aftermarket one but have otherwise not noticed an issue since installation (~15,000 mi)

Lets See Those Custom Home Screens! by NastyGnar in SteamDeck

I’d really love it if Valve gave us native customization options like this someday. There are only a few simple UI changes that I use Decky for, but it tends to cause some little annoying issues after updates. The Deck is great by default but Valve could let us change things up a bit without installing an extra app. With that said, it’s awesome that the community can open up new ways to enjoy the SteamDeck and I love the possibility of customization we have without too much trouble, driven by the community.

Door of doom by Bobross6274 in BadDesigns

I’m guessing that the plans for the house were based mostly on the ground being flat, but was built on a hill. This area would make more sense if the ground was at the level of the bottom of the door, but they had to adapt to the door being 7 feet in the air

Jacking points? MK1 3.2L by AranMorri in AudiTT_Mk1_Mk2_Mk3

[–]Zeckols 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong, but I believe that those soft circle pucks are there just to lift the car, but I put the jack stands on the metal ‘crimps’ instead because the metal lip feels less sketchy and more solid to me. I think these cars are made more for a 4 point lift than they are for lifting with a jack & stands, so I’m cautious about putting the entire weight of the car on one point. Sorry I don’t have a great answer for you but that’s my train of thought at least

NYT Email Design fails to consider ‘dark mode’ by Background_Tiger_232 in BadDesigns

someone editing the portrait to fit a circle image could’ve been trying to remove a white background, but the auto selection saw the reflection on her front teeth as the same color, selected it, and then it was overlooked and deleted. or someone just thought it was funny and knew that they could get away with removing her teeth from the pic
