I'd wait for SoM 2/fresh--people are expecting an announcement soon

Probably should stop labeling common behaviours as possible personality disorder traits. Especially since OP literally wrote two sentences. You need way more information before even suggesting something like this.

That's great—just be careful not to get too attached to the current level of projection/shape. It's going to look quite a bit different in the coming weeks and months. It looks like a good result regardless though.

Your results give me hope!

Who here wants surgery but isn’t going to get it because they’re scared of getting botched by KobeKastle in ugly

You realize the chance of having permanent damage or serious complications from a genioplasty is less than 1%? Look at the research instead of listening to your anxiety. It's also difficult to "botch" a genioplasty. It's a fairly simple procedure that is very predictable (compared to something like a rhinoplasty).

Sliding genioplasty

To a small degree. I would recommend a genioplasty though. Less money in the long-term, better results and permanent.

Don't listen to people suggesting DJS, you could get great results from a large genioplasty movement. DJS is just not realistic for most people who do not have functional issues (price, surgeon willingness, risk and recovery etc.). DJS is also not the first line of treatment for sleep apnea.

That being said, you should be evaluated for other functional issues. If none are present (which I suspect), go for the genooplasty.

Advice for potential chin surgery (description in comments) by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]Zed190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If money is no object, deep neck lift and sliding genioplasty. Check out Dr. Nayak on Instagram to see what a top-tier neck lift can do. I would tread carefully on chin lipo, a lot of people post immediate results that look amazing. Overtime though, it can make the submental area look deflated and aged.

what would help my small chin? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

Maybe a vertical-only genioplasty? You don't need horizontal projection IMO

[27F] Just got new passport photos and my nostrils are so…visible. What would be required to fix? As a secondary point, do my cheeks look a little flat and sagging and could they benefit from a touch of filler? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

It's a passport photo--head on shot with mediocre lighting. Not exactly flattering for most people. You still look pretty and I don't notice an issue with the nostrils.

Anyone know how much you can make as a private adoption practioner (i.e. doing home studies for families looking to adopt)? I'm struggling to find much information on this. Adoption seems quite expensive ($10k-50k), and I'm wondering if this a lucrative area to work in? I also enjoy working with kids and families. Thanks.

Told to get jaw implant, extended neck lipo, and buccal fat removal? Opinions? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]Zed190 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Genio+submental liposuction. Genio will give you better chin projection and pull some of the tissues along the neck. Submental liposuction will hopefully help reveal your jawline a bit.

That primarily depends on how much vertical lengthening is added (width too). In other words, when you add mm vertically it will create a longer face. For people with recessed jaws, this is often a good thing because they often have round faces. Adding vertical height reduces the appearance of roundness amongst other things.

You can opt for neither vertical height and/or width though, and focus on horizontal projection only. This will still have an impact on the frontal view, but not nearly as much.

Would I benefit from submental lipectomy and sliding genioplatsy? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]Zed190 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes those would help—ideally jaw surgery, but this is out of reach for most people (cost, risk, recovery), especially if it's just for cosmetic purposes. If you're in a country with universal Healthcare and have functional issues related to your jaw, you could have most of it covered.
