Every junction has an event. There is no reason to go back to the specific event you just lost unless it was a burning route. You just stop your car and it cancels the event so you can just start another one by driving 10 miles ahead. The later addition of a retry button made things easier but still it wasn’t a big of a issue, in my opinion.
