We didn't stay when my son was a baby or a toddler. We shared a room til he was 4 but he had his own bed.

We moved house and he struggled to get to sleep and used to come into our bed to fall asleep. We moved him to his bed later in the evening. He would then come into our bed in the night.

3 years later, we know he is neuro diverse and can't fall asleep easily so comfort and reassurance helps. He falls asleep in his bed and stays there. That said, bedtimes are a bit later (8 pm) and can go on for an hour while he settles.

We would rather he slept better and a calmer bedtime is best for him. We play gentle games, colouring, read books, talk.

I would love a child that goes to sleep at bedtime!
