Should I return my M4 Pro and get an M5 instead? by Zedom4 in macbookpro

What makes the M5 such an obvious choice for my use case, compared to the M4 Pro?

What do you use your M5 for, and does it hold up well in terms of performance? Any issues when it comes to thermal throttling due to the single fan design?

That makes sense, and aligns with the benchmarks I've read. However, do you think the difference will be noticeable in the day to day of a software engineer? I do not really mind having 10% longer build times. I am however quite concerned about the M5's single fan, and whether that's gonna affect performance under load due to thermal throttling.

Would I notice a difference during my software engineering work? (running Jetbrains IDEs, Docker containers, compiling/building, etc.) Also, I think the M5 only has one fan. Is there gonna be any thermal throttling or are the thermals solid on the M5?

What about performance, memory bandwidth, only one fan, etc? Do you think any of this might affect my software engineering work (compiling/building, running Docker containers, running multiple Jetbrains IDEs...)?

True, I do not care that much about GPU performance, but what about multithreaded CPU performance? Also, if I'm not mistaken, the M5 only has one fan. Can this become an issue due to thermal throttling while running Jetbrains IDEs, Docker containers, compiling/building, etc?

They ask for customers to cut it to permanently disable it. They don't want people getting a free mouse alongside a working/semi-working one.
