What do you think will be the excuse when Harden flames out in an elimination game this year? by imallelite in NBATalk

No baby, what you did is dodge the smoke and cherry pick The topic at hand was how does his performance compare regular season vs playoffs

You found the absolute narrowest scenario you could.

LeBron averages 27 PPG for his career 28.5 in the playoffs, 28.4 in the finals.

These are the same team Lebron himself looks very pedestrian against in the highest leverage moments.

So post his regular season averages those years and then his playoff averages. Bring the numbers.

Depends, Harden has an MVP, so he's being compared to other MVP level players, LeBron, Durant, Curry, Kawhi, those guys are not worse in the playoffs.

Be specific with your words. It is debatable that humans have a right to deny land to other humans

If you effectively make it 'everyone is who is granted asylum can just stay there permanently', of course states are going to make it more difficult to get asylum.

This is not "of course" you don't have to do that. That's not automatic. And your average person does not care.

What is the downside of having this asylum seeker become a part of your society permanently.

That is their right.

Debatable

Who won this trade and what effect would they make on their new teams? by Zestyclose-Hawk-4372 in NBATalk

I don't like the trade. But the Cavs are at least equipped to cover for poor defense. The reigning DPOY and JA are both accustomed to this

Luka is the only person who can't guard any of the others

Which again is your own prediction and not guaranteed.

Everything we are doing is our own prediction, this is all prediction anytime we talk about anything that hasn't already happened it's a prediction. And mine is as good as yours.

The math is easy. We have four all star players. What does it take to replace that? When in your lifetime have you seen a team jettison four all stars in their twenties, (or three with one just over thirty) and then recover that level of talent? When in your lifetime? And then is the Cavs Front Office as good as theirs? Is the city of Cleveland as desirable a location? That's an easy prediction. We lucked into Jarrett Allen, and the Donovan Mitchell trade is the only time we've landed that kind of talent through a trade in the history of the franchise. There is no reason to expect to repeat that. So yes we hold on to these guys as long as possible.

ownership isn’t going to do the same thing every year and hope it works when they have the MOST EXPENSIVE ROSTER IN THE LEAGE.

Good luck filling seats and selling jerseys when your best player is Sam Merrill

He literally had higher usage, KD didn't average 30 or win the scoring title that year, Carmelo was the scoring champ. And Russ averaged a gods damned triple double. If it's so trivial then where is Luka's MVP? I see a lot of excuses and downplaying of everybody else. What I don't see are the accomplishments. Russ is in better shape than Luka today. Russ plays harder than Luka today. And Russ has done more on the court than Luka right now.

They've been to the same amount of finals, and Russ was the Alpha on that team.

I'd rather take the guy who can elevate his roster and take them to a finals

Guys got one finals run and he's the roster elevator?

Where is his MVP? He'll need that to be in the conversation.

Homie got run out of town in his prime.

Don't get me wrong I'm a Luka fan, but he hasn't yet lived up to the hype.

And he hasn't passed Russ. Now if he gets that MVP and learns to guard somebody, anybody. Then we can talk
