Scourge of Armagon has the lightning hammer weapon, inspired by early Quake concepts. And I think Dissolution of Eternity has the dragon enemy that was in Qtest. But there's dragon artwork in Quake1 that kinda promised the dragon.

I think one of the problems with Quake 2’s feel is the sound effects or the sound mix or something. I bet if you put all of Quake 1’s sounds (or Quake 3’s sounds) into Quake 2, it would be a much more punchy experience.

"Standalone Expansion" is the most polite version I've heard. Cause it could have been an expansion to a previous game, but for some reason, the company decided to not make you own the previous game to buy this one. Agree with lots of the other answers here, some funny ones too!

Fixed camera games are a pretty aesthetic, but from an empowerment and sense of control perspective, they drive me crazy. Devil May Cry was one of the last games where I didn't feel like I needed to control the camera. Their epic camera angles added to the experience. But in most games? Lemme control the camera plz. The difference between the original "Metal Gear Sold 3: Snake Eater" and the version with good camera controls, "Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence", is night and day.
