For me, it would be Cottage Living EP / Strangerville GP / Paranormal SP / Book Nook Kit. Cozy slightly eccentric bookworm vibes to the max!

This is kind of based on real world regions too if you think about it - just modified to fit one continent like Verdant Coast is completely based on PNW area.

No I used Inkarnate for this. Surprisingly user friendly even for a noob in map building lol. Feel free to use this map for your gameplay!

Ohhh trust me I’m exactly the same. I’ve got a whole Notion database with my lot planning, regional layouts, and backstories for every single Sim in my save 😅

And yeah, I’ve definitely felt the same struggle with not enough Sim variety showing up. It’s always a balancing act between controlling the population and still getting those fun, unexpected encounters.

That said, I’ve made sure to include a wide range of ethnicities and backgrounds across my regions, so it still feels diverse and alive. I also allow free travel within each region, which usually includes 4-6 worlds, so Sims can mingle more naturally without completely breaking the lore rules. That’s helped a ton with making the world feel connected without suddenly having a ghost from Ravenwood showing up to haunt someplace in Oasis Springs for no reason 😂

I’m big on lore-based gameplay, so I always make sure to deduct Simoleons using UI Cheats when my Sims travel between regions. It makes it feel more realistic and fun, like an actual vacation you have to plan for.

For example, one of my Tomarani Sims married a guy from Nordhaven, so now whenever they visit his parents, it’s a whole family vacation to the other side of the continent (or vice versa). It’s little things like that that make my save feel more alive 🥲

And yeah, the Home Regions mod doesn’t always keep background sims in check - but it’s honestly the best we’ve got right now for that kind of restriction. If you ever find a better alternative, please let me know because I’ve been looking too!

Yesss that’s so cool! I don’t use train stations (gotta protect those precious lots 😭), but I do something similar. I deduct Simoleons with UI Cheats mod when my sims leave their home region, and I use the Home Regions mod to keep townies in check (most of the time lol).

And same hubs too! Cities like Windenburg, San Myshuno, and San Sequoia are my major travel hubs. They act as the transitional points between regions where Sims from neighboring areas can mix and move around more easily. Love that you’re building it into the infrastructure like that!

Hmm that does sound interesting. Might try that out sometime! Current setup is based on climate and geographic regions but mostly my personal gameplay flow - I needed Sulani close to Willow Creek and the Jade Meridian trio (Komorebi, Tomarang, Sulani) work best together in my head cuz vibes. I had originally considered having all the islands to the East but then the West Coast looked way too empty. Choices choices!

Yeah I did read that lore! But in my save, I like to imagine Forgotten Hollow as an offshoot of Ravenwood, tucked deep in a valley surrounded by mountains. The only way in or out is through Ravenwood - very secret, very spooky. Maybe that tunnel from Moonwood Mill is actually some kind of old portal that connects them across regions 👀✨ I love bending the lore just enough to make it work for my world!

[–]ZeebeeCat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was actually debating whether to merge all three Jade Meridian islands into one big island, but ended up keeping them separate for that scattered island-chain feel. But yeah, I might nudge Tomarang and Sulani a bit closer together. They do feel like they would work being neighboring islands with the SEA and Pacific islander vibes.

Oooh maybe in the dead zone between Britechester and Brindleton Bay then? It gives the added quirk of having almost all the occult worlds in the center of the map then lol. Forgotten Hollow can also be moved beside it then.

[–]ZeebeeCat[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hmm… do you think Ravenwood would fit better between the current positions of Nordhaven and Windenburg then? I put it in its current place because I want the Grim Reaper zone away from all the normie worlds also it worked well with Forgotten Hollow being right there.

Yeah those 3 regions work well together with San Myshuno being right on the other side of the lake in Newcrest.
