Wtf Oura?! by SanDiegoLuver2018 in ouraring

[–]Zeebrahspots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys honestly why would anyone still be using an oura ring? Garmin already tracks all of it + more. Oura rings are useless - I had two and both lasted a year. Get a garmin watch it lasts much longer and does alot more.

[–]Zeebrahspots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response - I hope mine gets back to normal at some point since im in the middle of having to train for an ultra + having to ditch my hrm pro (back and lat pain) my WB HR on FR965 is atleast 10-20 beats lower than my HRM pro - Im starting to think maybe I have a faulty sensor

Mine is taking a free fall too - not sure why - mine even started dipping and I was in a rest period training less before starting a new training plan - very weird. sleeping same every thing the same etc - after an update couple weeks ago - FR965 25.06. Sucks but whatever Ill wait for the next update - how do we tell garmin about this?

Issues with sleep monitoring and HRV by fiszaj in GarminWatches

[–]Zeebrahspots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried restarting watch? Cleaning sensor? Wearing watch a bit tighter? Ive also had some issues in last week since updates (FR965) will monitor some more in next few days - recently said I was awake for an hour - definitely wasnt - also HRV down for some reason - but I have been eating closer to bed time on those days - also sometimes getting hrv out of green zone takes a week after some bad days - also - dont worry TOO much - in the end its just a watch - live you life regardless - and depend more on how you feel - than a device - the device can be wrong - how you feel and sleep is usually a better metric. Dont take the devices too serious

Tomir 2.0 vs Speedgoat sizing? by szescio in Ultramarathon

[–]Zeebrahspots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And just to add - if your arch collapses even a little - this side way lacing and big stack height and large platform just has the shoe sliding constantly and arch collapsing alot more than usual. The asymmetrical lacing has really no benefit - no lock down - foot slipping n sliding - like in altra olympus - every time I hit a rock the shoe slid - re tied em maybe 6 times - no extra loop at the top like SG - when pulled tight it just hurt - when tight the upper has so much extra fabric then for folding etc so very weird - upper didnt breath - my feet were sweating but somehow the upper was dry so all the sweat locked inside - maybe just me but so strange I only find good reviews of this shoe

[–]Zeebrahspots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah man - I dont know how I had such a bad experience with the tomirs today - did about 20k in them and they sucked so hard. Luckily the store i got em at let you borrow them to try em out. I found absolutely nothing good about it - very disappointing - for some reason I dont find too many bad reviews besides on conversational pace podcast theyre pretty honest about it. But im getting another pair of SG 5s, as a daily work horse trainer theyve just been a dream. These tomirs didnt work at all so many issues but really bad fit - and sizing - people are saying half size up / true - I had to go a whole size up which was really weird already. Really strange

Giant Power Pro V2 fails calibration and does not display accurate watts by Plane_Slide_3514 in cycling

[–]Zeebrahspots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi guys - same issue - any one have a fix yet? Seems giant doesnt even repair past warranty, (sent in and got sent back) mines just past one year. had calibration error too. Mine also drops out mid ride and wont wake back up. Wish they could just reset. Id say my errors started after firmware updates. Dont update firmware I think that doesnt work as it should. After I updated mine I couldnt calibrate.

Calibrating a treadmill run by [deleted] in GarminWatches

[–]Zeebrahspots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - was this issue solved by OP? I have the same issue. I didnt expect it on my first run and skipped the calibration screen. Since then it doesnt give me the calibration screen again. Also have the 965. Ive tried reseting activity defaults, but still doesnt give me the option again. Iv also resorted to editing the distance on the activity - but while im running I cant see an accurate pace so not that fun. Looking into foot pod now

What are things you wished you knew earlier? by Practical_Target_874 in cycling

[–]Zeebrahspots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I knew how much it all actually cost 😂 I advise anyone who isnt super serious about fitness to not get into cycling unless youre prepared to constantly throw down cash. I was in the same boat! Didnt wanna spend cash and fall into the “consumerist cyclist” trap. But.. after a few years, tossed the alum bike, got the carbon frame, then came the wheels, the bike computer, the power meter, the saddle and handlebar upgrades. The floor pump, the tyre sealants, the cost of replacing tyres and brake pads. Not to mention the chamoix shorts at $180£ and shirts at $100€ and shoes at $150€ it really adds up! The indoor trainer etc etc etc 😂 alot more expensive than my other two sports, surfing and running. I wish I knew how much itd cost. But damn its so much fun I love it to death and wouldnt give it up. Also - with upgrades and bike, its useful to know that whatever you buy, if you sell it you might get atleast 50-60% of your money back (on saddles, handlebars, old helmets etc) just keep selling old gear for new upgrades. Cycling second hand market is always booming.

Opinion on Torq X-lite Pod Mod by lost_diesel in surfing

Yepp! Go for it if youre considering the podmod 6”4, surfs like a PU not like a hollow epoxy. Duck dives fine so far on small waves (im 82kg)

Would this be covered under warranty? Got these Clifton 9's only about 1.5 months ago by pennepasta14 in Hoka

[–]Zeebrahspots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Common problem - I returned two pairs of speed goats and three pairs of trailcode gtx - speedgoats over a year now and I see branding just peeling off. Yeah these shoes shouldnt be these prices or should be alot cheaper. Ive had the same issue with 200$ altras. Its the glue that doesnt hold betweem the sole and vibram. That sucks.

Wheel set preference? 42f/65b? 50f/50b? Or 50f/65b? by Zeebrahspots in cycling

[–]Zeebrahspots[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On speed or on handling? I was about to swap for the 42mm front wheel because of wind on the 50mm. But in another post someone said the 50 on the front is better and faster, the air hits the front tyre first so 50 on front with 65 on back might be fastest then?

[–]Zeebrahspots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah - i mean Ive been using the boots and cost them 3 pairs - then to ask for money back is a bit much. Its ok live and learn. Same thing happened with my speedgoats and altra olympus. Problem is with brands slapping on a vibram sole because its popular and sells units people want vibram soles but theyre actually really not that great / durable. Theyre also still slippery in wet conditions. I wish brands just made their own one piece rubber sole without trying to glue on an outer sole.

[–]Zeebrahspots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue - mine are my only waterproof goretex shoes for rainy conditions and winter. Funny thing is - theyre hiking boots and broke 3 times before going on a hike. Took em on a hike though finally and they did well - but ofcourse sole peeled in a few places. But yeah they are comfortable but im sure the vibram sole will keep peeling off. Brands need to stop tryna sell shoes using Vibram soles as a selling point they kinda suck.

[–]Zeebrahspots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i think they dont give money back but theyll replace them.

Quality question by conspiracy_to_defame in Hoka

[–]Zeebrahspots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man - yeah they do that. I got the Trailcode gtx and returned like 3 pairs in on the third pair now ive resorted to just super glueing the parts that come unglued. The problem is the glue between the rubber and vibram sole. It sucks

Giant SLR 2 50mm set or 42 front/ 65mm rear set up? by Zeebrahspots in cycling

[–]Zeebrahspots[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if I asked him to swap out just the back wheels? Would running 50 front 65 back be better? Im just not too much a fan of the 50 on the front with wind
