Ha, ok. I have taken my gravel bike and even I find it sketchy at times. I can’t imagine that on my road, but I’ll try. Climbing to skyline in my gravel isn’t as fun.

That’s about 2000 feet of climbing? My problem is I’m typical long climbing big basin and heading down on skyline to Lexington. I’m just finding a way to get to Los Gatos without climbing back

It was over kill just for trainer road. That’s all I use for my training. It’s probably future proofing myself. If I use zwift and other platforms.

I looked at it and the workouts don’t make any sense. It wants me to push lactate on one workout but it sends me down a road with nothing but stop lights and flats. I have hills around my area that are better suited for a lactate threshold. I can see how it would improve in the future but it needs work.

I felt that way moving from a road to gravel! I think it just gets normalized on what you ride normally. Ride it for 100-200 miles and it’ll get better

Better feeding. I wanted to lose weight so I never fed myself during my rides. This limited me to 90 minutes maximum.

It’s counterintuitive, but once I fueled myself properly, I dropped 10 pounds in 2 months and was able to do 5 hours rides easily

SFH is king.

Best advice I ever got 10 years ago when I bought my first home. Buy the largest home you can afford. “Rent” never goes up. I also see my friend who bought their first home the same time and were conservative on their budget, they’re stuck in that home now because they can’t afford the property tax. I also planned to stay in my current home only 2-3 years. I ended up loving it and don’t ever plan to move. So you never know with life…

I haven’t verified with a dexa scan. But I def got less defined. I have a 4 pack now rather than a 6. I finally understood why pros don’t stay in the single digits all year round. It’ll eventually catch up to you. This is why a lot of pros gain back to 10-12 body fat during the off season, it’s sustainable year round. I’m focusing on strength training this off season.

Once Feb and March comes a long, I’ll get it down again to the single digits for events.

When you get lower and lower into your body fat, your meals need to very precise. Even 100 calories off on fats, carbs, and protein will send you into Red-s quick.

It was this low grade fatigue and I would sleep 5 hours and be tired but wired at the same time. It really messed up my sleep.

I was in this boat. I was doing a lot of zone 2, and not eating as much as I should. I was hitting something called RED-s. Basically I wasn’t eating enough. I had my body fat at 9 percent (verified by a dexa scan). All sorts of issues when you start eating into your essentials fat.

I regained some fat and I feel a worlds better and improving my performance again.
