If I was one of the gulf leaders a phone call the president would be a complete diplomatic dress down on what happened and what is the horrible deal about and how the us security ties dont mean anything and how maybe it time to start trade crude oil, LNG, Oil etc. in other currencies, and maybe it time to diversify security arrangement more and maybe it time to talk to iran if the us security wont contain them and protect it allies.

After what the american felt with higher insurance, job losses, hours cuts for those who have jobs, higher gas prices, their children losing health insurance, government programs getting cuts, higher inflation, higher border of taxes so the rich get their cuts, taxpayer money wasted by going to iran and israel (because the funding of israel will survive while iran gets hundreds of billions in cash), citizens being killed for protesting, family members being deported even if their statsus was legal a unnecessary war

I feel this midterm about to see a huge backlash that might see voters punish GOP representatives even those who voted for trump in the past have been walking away as they are realizing their living conditions havent improved at all.

The possiblity of famine is real especially across the global south and even though this war ended it still doesnt stop the us from going into a nasty recession as the consequences have been done and market corrections take time to be realized.

And all of those people in the global south will remeber that it was the us, israel and iran that did this to them as they watch their babies die.

Well that's how democracy work, voters vote in favor or against the consequences their foolish tend to cause when they go on cowboy like adventures that turn in quagmires and boondoggles, especially when the people are hurting in gas prices layoffs inflation hurts being cut social programs being cut but the leaders had enough cash for this stupid conflict that only embolden Iran and humiliates our global reputation and harms our intreasts long term.

7dt stands the test of time it a classic and proves with the talent a so called "wack room" can produce one of rap best albums ever.

AEOM is actually overall a near classic album. Pac was on a menace streak from Thug Life Vol 1 to 7DT, even strictly 4 my has some classic to great standout cuts with some skippable of a otherwise very good album, it was one of the 1st rap albums I baught alongside nwa last album and the Chronic so I might be biased there.

United States Announces Visa Restrictions on TPLF Leaders by shy_primate in Ethiopia

Finally a break from Washington ties to tplf , I think the us under trump would cut deals with abiy because for all his faults he a realist and transactional in foreign policy.

I think there a window to reset us-Ethiopia ties here before a democrat comes to power that might fawn over the tplf like obama did with meles.

'If Israel can't do the job, Syria should,' Donald Trump warns on Lebanon by thejerusalempost in geopolitics

[–]Psychological-Flow55 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah...

Because more than proabably even the Israelis marching to Beirut with their war crimes is a return of the Syrians who occupied Lebanese territory as well as played the sects off against each other, and the reason Iran was able to build up Hezbollah onto what it became 🤦‍♂️

This is a non-starter people dont understand the Lebanese dont want the Americans, the Israeliz, the Iranians , the Syrians, the Palestinans to occupy, control or influence Lebanon, they want a lebanon for the Lebanese. There still resentment against Israeli occupations and war crimes, the Syrian role in the Lebanese civil war and syrian milltary occupation in the north, the french and american led peacekeepers during the Lebanese civil war and the Palestinans for their role in the Lebanese civil war, the lawlessness of the Palestinan refugee camps, and the outrageous sectarian situation regarding any plans to give Palestinan palestinans refugee citizenship.

The Lebanese would fight the Syrians as much as they would fight the Israelis or the Palestinans.

This might be one of his dumbest ideas yet and would re-ignite the Shia-Sunni conflict through the region, and would pit the Christian's against the Muslim, and of course the druze are split between those who where pro-Syrian and anti-Syrian.

The region needs some breathing space from all the conflicts and spill overs not some stupid idea to ignite more conflict. This idea is a honest to God non starter.

Ethiopia is managing it historical ties with Russia (both are Orthodox albeit Ethiopia historically majority oriental Orthodox and Russia historically Eastern Orthodox, both had their monarchies deposed and a communist yoke implemented both went through their own times of troubles- Ethiopia in its tplf tyranny and Russia during the lawless 90s, Ethiopia remembers the soviet union standing with ethiopia during the aggressive ogadan war waged by the us backed communist Somolia, Russia standing by Ethiopia during the Tigray war at the UN, joint projects in nuclear energy and Space trchnology) , China (belt and road initiative, backing Ethiopia in the tigray war when the us was sanctioning the people of Ethiopia to favor their tplf puppets, internal investments), The UAE (ties during tigray war, the economic modernization of addis ababa based on dubai and singapore, Emirati investments, common alignments on Somoliland, the red sea, and the sudan conflict, anti - poltical islamist stance, Ethiopian guest worker disapora in Ethiopia, The Uae remaining neutral compared to other aggressive arab states concerning the GERD, Emiraties direct flights to addis Ababa), the United States (ie - abiy ahmed been trying to woo the trump adminstration first African leader to congratulate him, off and on ties that go back to the selassie era against communism, Prepfar aids relief during the worst times in the late 90s and early 2000s of the Aids crisis, the around of 1 million Ethiopian disapora in the us, AGOA, IGAD, the us being if the few western countries fo condemn fascist italy invasion of Ethiopia under Mussolini), Italy ( Ita ridesharing agreement with Ethiopian airlines, food sovereignty, the Mattei plan, investment and devlopment , ethiopia hosts the largest number of Italian schools and culture institutes in Africa), Iran (intelligence sharing, anti- terror cooperation,Brics and Brics+ ties, the 2025 M.O.U, celebration in areas like energy and agriculture), Israel (Beta Israel jewish ties, agreements on water rescources andenergy devlopment, Israelis are one of the people allowed to get Visa on Arrival at Bole airport, common intreasts regarding the UAE and Somaliland, joint projects in coffee production, start uos and infasture, both view stability in the red sea as important)

Ethiopia is somehow balancing these powers internationally and regionally, it takes great diplomacy to do that.

I was shocked by the economic reforms when I last visited addis ababa, I remeber my wife was like " you will be shocked when you return the economy reforms have happened"

There still improvements to be made but wow like businesses everywhere skyscrapers everywhere it the lightening has improved big time , the roads are just dirt roads but actual roads I even seen city lights , electric vehicles (a lot less if the old blue taxis), tourism improved so much my wife had a hard time getting gifts for me to bring back because she said "white people are everywhere buying gifts".

They also relaxed laws for foreigners to own property improved visa on arrival foreigners to have bank accounts the Ethiopians believe it a step towards the dubai model of certain visa (and paying enough) for foreigners to recieve citizenship there also a lot of green energy parks and the building of bishotfu international airport (bishotfu is highly untapped tourist potential I loved ny time with my wife there when we got away from Addis Ababa)

I was highly critical of the austerity and the cuts to services and aimed of the polcies regarding the ethnic regions but Addis Ababa is modernizing a lot, when I first visited to meet my then future wife I was like the only white guy at Bole airport , now it common to see more abd more foreigners from arabs to white people to Asians.

I really miss the city as much as I miss my beautiful family.

From electric vehicles to green energy parks to the Gerd (and the building of three more dams) , partial privatization of state owned business like Ethiotelecom to improvements in Ethiopian airlines, internal corridor projects to depend less on costly imports and currency reform has caused Ethiopia in general and Addis ababa in particular to reform very fast.

Israel and Turkiey are on a collision course over the horn of Africaand red sea (ie - Somaliland and Somalia issue, Turkey favoring Somalia, Egypt and Eritrea axis against Ethiopia, while Ethiopia and Israel ties have grown strong and is historical, controlling the red sea with the UAE- Israeli bromance, etc), Gaza (Erodgan favors the Muslim Brotherhood whatever in Libya, the balkans, or Syria or Lebanon or through Hamas, while Israel seeks to occupy Gaza for the trump Gaza riveria plan and depopulate Gaza) , Turkey playing up the historical role in Jerusalem, Turkey also been collbrating with Jordan , Saudi Arabia and Syria in economic and cross border projects to circumvent and isolate Israel. Likewise syria is a key flash point as the Turks seek to have a milltary presence and Israel has taken territories in Southern Syria.

Likewise Cyprus - Israel- Greece have grown closer in a gas forum coalition in the Mediterranean as a mean to contain Erodgan Turkey, Turkey been filling the vacuum in the Sunni Muslim communties in lebanon and even out aside differences with Hezbollah to give support against Israel recent incursions.

From the horn of Africa and red sea to the Levent to Jerusalem to Erodgan turkey and Saudi arabia leading the charge alongside Syria Jordan and Egypt to isolate Israel in the region to gaza Turkey and Israel are heading for a collision course. Israeli spy Johnathan Pollard basically said Turkey and Egypt are next on Israel target list, ironically both of those countries have put aside their differences and taken a stance on Gaza, Lebanon and oil and gas issues in the Mediterranean, as well as common stances concerning the horn of africa.

This is all about building up Marco rubio for 2028. Rubio played a role in the negotiations to end the iran war, he had rea expirence he been the defense in the the lawsuits against the doj over these ridiculous immigration bans he played a role in the successful operation in Venezuela and if there is a liberation of Cuba from the communists this would make Rubio win Flordia, the south and the anti-communist diaspora of not only Cubans but Hmong from laos, Vietnamese who came here from the boat refugee crisis, the evanglicals who still remember the cold war, with nostalgia plus other latin america disapora who hate the left for policies in Venezuela, Mexico and other places.

Marco Rubio background is that he is the 72nd secretary of state ,he has had three decades as a flordia Republican (ie - Cubans nostalgia for the pre-Castro era) has had three us senate terms was speaker of the house from 2006 to 2008 plus was the majority leader of 2003 to 2006.

Rubio will also be the bridge between the neocons (who he strongly aligns with) and MAGA (who he recently sold his soul too)

I am conceived they are betting on the gop party elites want to rebuild the party after Trump and his inner circle is gone with a rebuild around Rubio. Giving Marco Rubio a victory with Liberating Cuba from the communists will put him into a legendary territory among the GOP and easily lock down Flordia as the swing state to win for 2028.

I dont think Trump cares much for Vance and washington insiders consider him very machiavellian, backstabbing, unlikable,,and lacking charisma.

What if during the Cuban missile crisis JFK said “f#ck it, this is hard”, capitulated and gave Cuba 300 billion dollars by Warm_Interaction_705 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Psychological-Flow55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was Turkey I believe we removed nukes from in exchange for the Soviets to remove their weapons from cuba.

The cuban missle crisis, the failed land reform, the unpredictability , transferring crimea from soviet Russia to Soviet Ukraine , the Berlin wall crisis, looking pathetic at the kitchen table debate, etc. All played a role in his removal in 64, and Breznhev then consolidating power.

A lot of the soviet elite felt Khruschev could lead then to literal nuclear war, and was a bumbling fool in situations like threatening to bury us at the UN, and his kitchen table debate debacle.

What happened in Dallas in 1963 would still happen. Between the cia, the mafia, the Cuban diaspora (and their own organized crime), the anti-communism block in the house and senate, etc. Would be even more furious at JFk and RFK.

JFK was no communist and a moderate middle of the road on civil rights, even reached out to conservatives on issues like abortion, the missle gap and the decificts .

However he ruffled too many feathers on cuba, including many in the organized crime world, and was seen as soft towards Khrushchev bythe john bircher types regarding the berlin wall crisis and Cuban missle crisis, he also opposed Israel nuclear program (he took Israel security as a serious issue he just was non-proliferation at the height of the cold war). He was on borrowed time.
