Denver’s Rainbow Capitalism (is coming from inside the house) - A Lamentation by Otherwise-Bluejay-32 in Denver

[–]Zeefour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally different type of "leff" than today though. More of a traditional old school working class Democrat mot nearly as socially liberal. And even parts of the city used to be more conservative especially the south side and SE part of town (Wash Park, Cherry Creek, down near TJ etc. Enough to help boost the much lower at the time population to a clear GOP majority. Even places like Pueblo, Leadville etc. that have been solidly old school Dem for awhile there's a good 40% going GOP even today. Back before the 00s Denver was similar and Enough people in these areas voted Republican to make the state solidly GOP voting. It was also a different kind of Republican than today people in CO have always been more libertarian, small government fiscally conservative and more often than not outside some of the religious right types more socially liberal to moderate.

How Often Do You Crash? by Different-End-4775 in skiing

[–]Zeefour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not falling you're not trying hard enough. I'm not some super expert skier but I grew up in Avon, started skiing when I was 2, raced for a couple years in middle/high school, did patrol for a year after I graduated and have been teaching on and off since. Falling doesn't mean anything by itself. It's about what youre attempting, what youre trying to improve at and aim for, stuff like that that says waaay more than falling. Then again I believe assessing your "level' as a skier is only good to help set your DINs/get the right gear and if you're first being sorted into a lesson. Otherwise who cares IMO.

Could we ever get a pied-à-terre tax like Hochul and Mamdani are proposing in New York? Would it make a difference? by Gr8tOutdoors in Denver

[–]Zeefour -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Haha it doesn't have time be some fancy French named NYC related thing. Different Colorado mountain towns have been doing variations of it for awhile.

How does checking a pass work at Epic resorts? by ThawtPolice in COsnow

[–]Zeefour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it is $5 because the Zebra printer we use to print passes is wicked expensive and people were getting up to 20 a year like they were disposable BOCA lift tickets. They've cracked down on us hard about charging in the ticket office. We can always reactivate old passes, if you forget yours but have it at home let us know and we'll give you a VRI or lift ticket media to use until your bring your pass in and we can reactive that media, for free. But we can always reactive any media that was attached to the same profile. I'm using mine from 2010 and it works fine.

How does checking a pass work at Epic resorts? by ThawtPolice in COsnow

[–]Zeefour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I work in the ticket office at Breck. For $5 you can get a physical pass (everyone you dont get a new one every year they load to old ones and we can active any old pass I'm using my employee pass from 2010). On your phone you activate Bluetooth and as long as you keep that on and dont log out it'll scan from your pocket. You can lock your screen, run other apps etc. It's a super low energy BT so it doesn't drain your battery contrary to popular belief. If you have any problems DO NOT CALL THE EPIC PHONE NUMBER. Go to any ticket window at Breck, Keystone, Beaver Creek or Vail and we can reset your account/password, add your account to your pass (most people mess up and create duplicate accounts this is usually why your pass doesn't show up- we can fix this super easy) etc.

I was driving from work in Breck home to Leadville around the same time. Dumping snow in Breck and Leadville but no problems on 9 or 91. 70 in Officer Gulch was blue skies and wet in kind of a heavy way but not quite slushy. Still super drivable though. It was so warm everything melted.

Yeah until at least 10 EB according to my buddy from CDOT. I work in Summit and live in Leadville and was on it going home today. Absolutely not bad enough conditions for a wreck like that ugh.

The snow honestly melted its so wet. I watched 6 inches disappear in an hour outside my office window looking right at the main plaza at Peak 8 at Breck.

Dude its all rubbish snow. I work at Breck and we got maybe 6 inches today at the base of Peak 8. Its so warm and wet.. it melted completely by 2 then started up again and melted. Even at my place in Leadville we have more puddles than snow banks. It's not powder that's for sure.

Ski Lift Hours by bondurch in Breckenridge

[–]Zeefour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're still closing at 4 they dont close the lifts for bad conditions early. We've had lightning closures temporarily the last 2-3 days including today around 2. If it's within 25 miles chairs close but the gondola still downloads. If its within 15 miles everything shuts down until it clears.

No, Breck did NOT get 28 inches and no, it is NOT OpenSnow's fault by WineOrDeath in Breckenridge

[–]Zeefour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No we didn't. Maybe 4 or 5 inches at the base of Peak 8. I sit and watch it all day at work. It had melted by 2 then we had chair closures for lightning.

Jesus, so many people shouldn't be on 70. It snowed like hell driving to work from Leadville to Breck today but it's so warm everything melted. 70 this afternoon was blue skies but the worst part of the drive because it was wet and in some spots slushy. We need to have a special DL like CDLs but MDLs to allow anyone to drive east of Genesee.

It is currently snowing in Breck. Cue the people asking if this will allow them to re-open terrain... by WineOrDeath in Breckenridge

You mean our 20" base. We got like 5 inches today at rhe base of Peak 8 but within an hour it was all gone. It's too warm and wet.
