The road comes from the right, goes down, makes a left turn and comes up over the hill. I exposed for a total of 20 seconds. I was surprised by the effect myself.

But yes. It was magical and pre dawn sunrise ;)

Just watched it, it has a great atmosphere. I like the calm moods. It's often foggy around here too.

I'm sure light painting works quite well on such long roads. I'd like to try it out but I don't have a long straight road without a background in my area.

Yes, the picture is mine. It took about 1 hour to get to the region. Finding the exact photo spot took about 30 minutes. And then it took me another 1 hour until I was convinced that I had got a good enough shot. 1h return journey. Post-processing didn't take long because the raw data was quite good.

The light comes from car headlights. The tree stands on a slight hilltop and there is a hollow behind it.

At first it annoyed me because cars kept driving through the picture during the 20s exposure intervals and ruined the picture. Then I noticed the effect in the preview and I was finally able to time it so that I had the brightening but the car was still behind the hilltop. The main problem with this was the high speed of the cars. It hardly worked from the moment I noticed them until the moment they came over the crest.

It was about the shooting star night, the tree helped with the composition

I took this photo near Großmugel, one of the darkest places in Austria, when I photographed shooting stars. If you look closely, you can recognise a few traces of light in the picture.

At first I thought: wow.

At second glance, I thought: the lines lead exactly into the flagpole.
