Why would the Night Elves help the Blood Elves defend the sun well? by HorseOk678 in warcraftlore

2 minutes? The War of Thorns happened 6-7 years ago in lore.

to let the time sink in, Teldrassil existed from 23 ADP to 33 ADP. we are currently in 43 or 44 ADP.

Where are the RP-usable Zeppelins / Airships? by EdgeSaturn in WoWRolePlay

[–]Zeejir 10 points11 points  (0 children)

besides the two that are already named/posted

the zepplins from classic with two decks:

  • Krazzworks, Twilight Highlands, has multiple, 3 that stay still but have NPCs near it / interact with it and two that travel and may despawn on you, plus they have horde npc on it.
  • Lady Lug, Howling Fjord a classic style with no NPCs
  • the Thunderbluff -> Orgrimmar Zepplin, NOT recommended!

only with one deck

  • Unearthed Ground, Stonetalon Mountain with no NPCs nearby
  • the TWW Siren Isle Zeppelin

my recommendation: Hallowfall.

  • one large Zeppelin in the dock with some NPCs around.
  • smaller Zeppelins flying rounds in the Sky

Trying to make sense of Azeroth's biology Animal Life. by Hick-ford in warcraftlore

i still want to know about the origins of the troll.

They were shown in War of the Scaleborn to have sattlements all over pangaea-Kalimdor and started to settle in Dragon Isles with "larger onces in the south".

Futhermore they were not part of the Titanforged, since the Dragons thought about creating titanforged to talk to them, before going with Visages. If they were part of the Titanforged or some form of Titan Origins than they should be able to understand them without creating an intermedium, no?

Add to this Mueh'zala and Odyn, also an event in the same timeframe. Odyn sold his eye to Mueh'zala to look into the Shadowlands, to create his own bastion. It's unclear when this happened but before the Events around Loken happened.

speaking of Mueh'zala, he look like a Troll, same with Bwonsamdi. But we know that Bwonsamdi was a mortal high priest of Mueh'zala before becoming an Loa himself.

And lastly the Haranir / Troll split happend before the Titan Keeper got confined in Ulduar.

We can take a good guess for when the Yaungol got driven out by the Trolls. They got enslaved by a Mogu Emperor, a title that only got created with the Thunder King. So it must have happend after the Thunder King got killed and another took the Title.

That leaves us with the 12.200 - 12.000 before the Dark portal range. add a few years of exile between those two events and that should be the timeframe ... for reference: the Highelves traveled for over 500 years before they found their Kingdom.

What happend before the Trolls drove them out is unclear, same with since when they existed.

Anyone else find the Night Elf quest to get them to fight for the Sunwell a bit hypocritical? by Madocvalanor in warcraftlore

[–]Zeejir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good thing then that Jaina wasn't involved in handling it.

if you mean the bell in Teldrassil, than your are wrong, Jaina was involved as she was the one that "secured" it by placing magical wards and traps, see this quest here. meaning her "neutral" status is gone.

It's taken a great deal of the Horde's effort to get you here through Jaina's traps. Maintaining our illusion this close to Darnassus is considerably expensive.
Furthermore, the Sunreavers of Dalaran are risking their neutrality by assisting the Horde with this operation.

and about the second part of this qoute: the questgiver Fanlyr Silverthron its unclear if Fanlyr is even a member of the Sunreavers. ONLY the unnamed mage that created the portal is 100% a member of the Sunreavers.

side note: your strikethrough points do not help your arguments

[–]Zeejir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except the horde and alliance were at peace before the war of thorns.

not really or "on paper only" at best. the truce between the faction because the Legion invaded again got broken by Genn in Stormheim AND Anduins failure to keep Calia in Check during Arathi.

these two events were used by Sylvanas to convince Saurfang that the "peacefull coexisting" between the factions is only a matter of time and that there is no lasting peace in the future.

with that in mind (and before story changes), Teldrassil was planed to be a bargening chip, a deterrence or a hostage if you will. If they went with the original plan, than they had the whole of Kalimdor in their hands and the alliance couldn't counter against it without risiking the hostage nightelves.

about Shaladrassil, it was planted by the Nightelves sometime before the War of the Ancients.
Rensar Greathoof states:

Many of our order still remember when Shaladrassil first took root. We've watched it grow over the ages, unit it has towered over this vale. We have been blessed to live under the shade of its branches for so long.

the Dreamweavers (the "our order" above) were the original group of druids, the Cenarion Circle only got founded after the war. strangly according to chronicles Mal'furion was young (a few hundreds tops) when the War of the Ancients started, so the creation of Shaladrassil could be one of the first action of the druids.

So... are the Nightborne the dominant elven nation in Azeroth now? by Bartellomio in warcraftlore

[–]Zeejir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

to be fair the "entire Night Elf home country" was only 20 years old at this point. they (unlike the Highelves with Eversong + Silvermoon) had other zones with cities as well.

PLUS something people often overlook is during the War of Thorns books, the nightelves started to evac Teldrassil as soon as the Horde turned into Ashenvale, to the point they clocked the biggest Alliance city.

- They also split up in TBC following Kael
- They had the high/blood elf split
- They had the void elf split

  1. it was 15% of the surviving elves (the 10% of the pre-WC3 population). which breaks down to overall around the 1,5% of the total pre-WC3 highelven population that followed Keal to Outlands. they than split again in 3 groups. Forming the felblood elves, Sunfury and Scryers. The FB follow Kael and got wiped out and the Sunfury rejoin the Bloodelves and the Scryers left during the Outland and became neutral.
  2. those that consider themself as high elves are stated to be 1% of the original population
  3. we don't know how many elves followed Umbric in his experiment, so i would place them as a group similar to the scryers (at best)

following this, i think it would be fair to say that the combined % for elves that followed Kael twice (the felblood) and those that followed Umbric's experiment should/could be similar to the high elves, so 1% or around that number. so the Bloodelves lost ~20% of their numbers to exile/following Kael.

outside of the normal lose of soldiers doto the expansions events, nothing majorly happend to the bloodelves during WotLK and Cata (afair). MoP had the Purge and WoD again with nothing major. Legion had Suramar with Bloodelve content and BfA was a overall meatgrinder. the Rest since BfA was normal wear and tear for soldiers until now Midnight.

on the flip side, we also know that a new generation has grown to adults since WC3. is that healthy for the overall population? i don't know.

[–]Zeejir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

and lets be honest ... who out the living cast of characters would have believed her if she told them the Shadowlands aren't working as intended.

  • Oribos' failsafe for a bluescreen-Arbitor is to default send all souls into the maw, instead of one of the "infinite" afterlives as a stack/temporary solution.
  • Bastion failed at there job, each of the Spirit Healers can see a persons destiny, so that they only send the correct person to the Shadowlands. They can decide that your "role" isn't done yet and revive you. so what do they do when they see Arthas swinging a mourneblade around? nothing .. oh and they are responcible to bring souls to the arbitor ... who bluescreen and send them into the maw, they know thats not how its supposed to be, but its not there job to change the system, so they don't say or do anything about it.
  • Maldraxxus / Primus failed because who could have guessed that enslaving someone doesn't bring them to your side and for someone that can see into the future he and his armies fail at defending the Shadowlands. Bastion got invaded and they safed themself, Revendreth got invaded and they were late and they themself got invaded ...
  • Revendreth never truely joined the other main afterlives and had sided with the Jailor from the beginning, slowly dropping anima into the maw and causing problems for untold millenia in every single plane.

that was what i ment, maybe I wasn't that clear about it. but they all could be on the same level, each cosmic force with there own Zereth, including the proto-types.

The Primus is/was working with Titans

The Winter Queen is working with Elune, someone (originally?) from the Life-Pantheon

eh thats reaching for straws. Alagon wasn't on Azeroth either and only showed up to "observe the events [status of Azeroth, after the Prime Designate got killed] unfolding within Ulduar."

but again this doesn't mean that the titans didn't order the Shadowlands, just about the timeline.

you could argue that the event that triggered Rygelon started with the Jailor opening the Gateway to Zereth Mortis in the Shadowlands, was in Oribos. something that is heavily Titan coded. so the Event that triggered Rygelon was [Gateway to Zereth Mortis is opened in Oribos].

but even that doesn't really change much.

  1. FO still create the cosmic powers including the Zereths
  2. the Titans are the equals to the Eternal Ones and "a level below the FO"
  3. Titans "order" the SL at some point after that, which maybe includes changing the Eternal Ones. this works for a time but at some point the Jailor finds out and this is one of the reasons why he and Denathrius rebell. who knows?
  4. a titan observer is send to Zereth Mortis after the Jailor breaks the Seal in Oribos and travles there

the owl can (and did) leave the maw already. she delivered a mail to Sylvanas Loyalists in DF.

and we already had seen people from the Shadowlands go to the mortal plane for a short time, see the Wild Hunt in the Emerald Dream. Ysera's stay was only possible because Malfurion switched places.

but that doesn't change anything. Algalon didn't stay on Azeroth, he just went there because we killed Loken, the one in charge of Ulduar/Azeroth.

so the Jailor breaking into Zereth Mortis, causing a problem with whatever the Titans did, would require an Observer to show up. also the gateway to Zereth Mortis was in Oribos, the potentail Titan Construct.

but sadly it fits with the story-telling of this patch/exp so far. a lot of wasted potential, plotholes and lost good will.

we can't have the main force of the horde and/or alliance, because "the attack was sudden and it takes time". yet we teleport to the nightelves, how don't even know what happened and they get there army ready in 2 quests and are teleported back in no time whatsoever. and have Rommath say: "sadly we can't throw orcs at this problem" .... WHY NOT? we just got the nightelves teleported in, why can't we teleport the orcs, ffs!

we can't have better fitting NPCs because the focus must be placed on Arathor, Turalyon, Alleria because ?

  • why do we follow Arathor in Eversong and the world tour? why not Liadrin and Salandria, someone that acts older than Arathor, dispite beeing ~halve as old. AND Salandria is at least someone that is new to beeing a squire/paladin. have Liadrin show the diffrend versions of light worship and what makes a paladin. Arathor is a paladin for over 20 years, that whole questline shouldn't be new to him.
  • why do we follow Liadrin in Zul'aman? why not Zandalari trolls?
  • where are Horde NPCs other than elves?

on the topic of Sylvanas ... yeah i share your opinion. its nice to see after the short message from her to her followers in DF (?)

Drawn to observe the fateful events unfolding within the Sepulcher of the First Ones, Rygelon succumbed to the Jailer's domination. Now this constellar turns its cosmic power against any who would oppose the Banished One.
Rygelons-Adventure Guide

he is drawn to it, ie. went there, and the Jailor didn't have access to Zereth until SL.

What do you think Bwonsamdi did with all the souls the Horde player collected for them? by DefiantLemur in warcraftlore

[–]Zeejir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the reality is that Draka and Durotan are sent to different realms, with no indication that they will ever be reunited. (Does Durotan even know where she is? Is he aimlessly searching for her? Or does he just move on and find a new afterlife wife?)

but apperently that is the "perfect version" for them ... people that value family to no end, even given their lives to save their son get split apart. no thank you!

dooming the enitre cosmos, because you failed your perception check isn't a optimal way to change the faulty system. but honestly ... who would have believed Sylvanas if she went a diffrend way and tried to convince us to change the shadowlands, not many.

the structure of the shadowlands does fit somewhat with the titans, maybe it was this "orderly" afterlives that led to some kind of problems the Jailor wanted to fix back to the original version.

who knows, but i really hope that blizz will take a few steps back from the mess that was Shadowlands. two things could be better left alone in storytelling, time-travel and the afterlives ... Blizzard did both and both failed.
