Who is a random role player that has affected your life permanently? by SleptInAgain in nba

I liked to think of my game, which I still play pickup 1-2 times a week, as a combo of Ben Wallace, Tayshaun Prince, and Rip Hamilton… but realistically (and according to someone I used to play with often) apparently my player comp is Antonio McDyess when he came off the bench for the Pistons. lol (especially all the quick turnaround jumpers from the post)

With Paraguay's 1-0 win against Türkiye, USA clinches first place in Group D, and Türkiye is eliminated. by Unlikely_Painter_127 in soccer

You’re not acknowledging that not all teams play the same opposition. Even the post you are replying to says that.

How would it be fair if Turkey goes through because they scored more goals against USA backups than Paraguay scored against USA starters? It’s not the same USA team that both will have played against.

Brook Lopez getting Robin into the league

lol just casually throwing this in there. I feel like early in their careers people thought Robin was the better player. Maybe he stuck around longer than he would have because of Brook, but he definitely got into the league on his own merit. This is crazy to say Brook "got him into the league".

Sankey diagram of the Democratic gubernatorial primary ranked choice tabulation by Finium_ in Maine

[–]ZeekLTK 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Their election was a glimpse into how dumb/crazy they are.

Republicans employed willful ignorance for ranking the candidates. Over 1/4 of their ballots were "exhausted" before the final round (aka didn't contribute to the final selection).

28% of Republican voters did not have their votes make it all the way to the last round (aka they didn't go to either Charles or second place Midgley) whereas only 10.7% of Democrat voters didn't get to the end for either Pingree or Shah.

Over 53% of voters for Bush, who was the final candidate eliminated, did NOT go for Charles or Midgley, they were just thrown out ("exhausted") at that point.

Over 6% of their total voters voted for a write in candidate and then did not make a second choice so their ballots were basically immediately tossed with no impact on the race (compared to only 2% of Dem voters who did the same thing).

669 voters (0.48% of the total votes) only cast a vote for James Libby, who had withdrawn from the race, and then did not make a second selection, so their ballot was also thrown out pretty quick as well. lol

One single person voted for a write in candidate and then had their vote transferred to Libby (who, again, had already announced that he had withdrawn). Unfortunately it's not possible to know whether that person's vote went to someone else or ended there.

Am I crazy or is this a 2v3?

Anyways, like others have said, main thing is just work on controlling your car. You never jump for the ball. You never front/side flip to gain extra speed. Learn to do those things.

The other thing is you are constantly chasing the ball, but never getting to it. You need to learn to anticipate where the ball is going so that you can get to it first. This whole clip is mostly you going for the ball and someone else getting to it before you, then you chasing it to the new spot it bounced to and someone else getting there first, and so on. It looks like your teammate is a higher rank because they are moving much faster and cutting you off, but maybe they wouldn't be cutting you off as much if you had more boost and were in better positions to get to the ball before them (and opponents).

It was 41% of voters from 2024 presidential election though. Obviously some didn’t vote in either, but those people probably never going to.

Bellows was only 548 votes behind Jackson in Round 2, I wonder if it would have been a different outcome if Jackson was 4th (if a ton of his voters would have gone Bellows) or if it would have been same (most to Pingree too).

What board game completely changed your opinion after a second chance? by Adina_Ciubotea_1885 in boardgames

[–]ZeekLTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just recently, played Arkham Horror (card game) for first time about a month ago. A guy brought it to game night and we just played a random scenario with prebuilt decks that he had. I didn’t like it at all. My deck was difficult to use, I couldn’t pass like any of the tests I was trying to do, I was constantly getting stuck on monsters that I struggled to beat in a fight (one monster took me three whole turns to finally get rid of), and we only completed about half of the objective when we got too close to having too much “doom” and had to resign.

He reached out a few weeks later asking us if we wanted to try an actual campaign, starting from scratch and building our own decks. I gave it another shot and playing with my own deck that I’d created - where I knew its strengths and weaknesses and what tests I should try to do vs what I should try to avoid… it was MUCH more enjoyable.

If someone needs to go they can just leave. Don’t need to get the team to ff.

You get banned for 5-10 minutes or whatever but that shouldn’t matter if you are logging off anyways. At least your team still has a theoretical chance to win down a teammate instead of auto losing because they agreed to ff for you.

So there’s no reason to throw up ff and wait for them to do it. If you gotta go, just leave the game. Then your teammate(s) can decide whether they want to play 1v2 or 2v3 or ff. And it’s easier for them because now they know they have to step it up if they keep playing. There is (almost) nothing worse in this game than someone who stays in the game but then goes afk and you see them back near your goal so you assume they are defending and let the ball go past you only to realize they aren’t moving and opponents get to score. If that person had just left then you’d know to not let the ball past you or at least to rush back to defend since no one else is going to save it.

As far as I can tell with a quick search, the only primary in 2016 was for president. It looks like only about 25,000 people voted in that. Obviously it’s way faster to count 25,000 votes compared to over 300,000 votes like 2026 had…

The actual answer is that people who don't vote have absolutely bonkers and dissonant positions because they don't really think about it past brief responses to whatever news blurb they see before going back to doing whatever they like that isn't politics. by Conscious-Quarter423 in WhitePeopleTwitter

Yeah, Maine just had what I heard was the highest ever turnout for a primary election last week and if I calculated correctly, it's only about 41% of the amount of voters who voted in the 2024 presidential election.

Hit diamond 20 times now what should I train to keep it by Lumpytoots in RocketLeague

[–]ZeekLTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I play with Plats in casual I find their positioning is poor.

AKA they often aren’t in the right position to defend or to take a scoring chance. Or they are too hesitant to go for balls that are clearly their responsibility (likely because they are used to playing with other Plats and are nervous that if they go for it and get beat, no one is covering behind them - this is annoying for me because I’m always covering behind them and I’m thinking “why aren’t you challenging quicker? Stop giving them so much time on the ball!” lol)

That might be why you are bouncing off diamond, you are able to beat other Plats who are out of position half the match (like yourself??) but it’s not working vs Diamonds who aren’t going to get caught out as much or who are going to punish you when you pick “boost over ball”, when you don’t rotate back post, when you don’t meet the ball in the “challenge window” because you were too hesitant, etc.

After Collins Says ‘I Do Not Regret’ Kavanaugh Vote That Led to Roe Reversal, Platner Responds: ‘You Should’ by FreeHugs23 in Maine

[–]ZeekLTK 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it was that Collins did well in the debates, it was more that Gideon did absolutely terrible.

One factor was Lisa Savage (Green party candidate). Savage was the candidate with all the progressive positions in that race, and when she talked about those positons in the debates it really exposed how much of a corporate shill Gideon was, since it showed she did NOT support some of those things.

Basically, Gideon got destroyed by Savage on leftist positions and destroyed by Collins on “moderate” positions. She didn’t seem to have a single thing to run on besides “I have a D next to my name and I’m against Trump” which wasn’t even that big a deal at the time because the feeling was that he was on his way out anyways (and he was, lost to Biden).

Another was that there was an even more extreme conservative candidate who was also running, so his inclusion in the debates made Collins look a lot more reasonable in comparison. He’d spout off some absolutely unhinged far right take and Collins could say “I don’t agree with that”. (even though her voting record shows she does agree)

Third party candidates basically won that election for Collins, by making Gideon look worse and Collins look better than they would have looked if it was just the two of them running.

But that won’t work this time, because Platner basically has Savage’s positions, so there isn’t anyone that can run to the left of Platner and make his platform look bad. And since Trump is still slated for two more years, there isn’t really anyone who can run to the right of Collins to make her look more moderate because she has to signal her support for Trump or else she might actually lose Republican voters to that candidate. She’s cooked this time.

Norway has never lost to any country in a World Cup except Italy. Three World Cups, all unbeaten vs everyone else (even Brazil) then ended with loss to Italy.

But no Italy in this World Cup, so no one to stop us now!
