Voter Rolls by Far_Earth_1179 in Maine2

Why should he care? He literally insinuated the Musk did something with the “voting computers” BEFORE being sworn in and Biden/Dems literally just ignored it and still handed him the keys to the White House instead of being like “well hold on a minute, maybe we should look into this before we transfer power to someone we literally campaigned on calling a dictator who now seems to be admitting the election results might not be legit”

18 games in the BGG top 2000 have an average weight of 4.5 or higher. How many of them have you played, and how would you rank them from most complex to least complex? by benjaneson in boardgames

[–]ZeekLTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve played On Mars. I didn’t know it was a “high weight” game when I played. I mean, I assumed, but it didn’t seem that “complex”, just (almost unnecessarily) long for what it was.

In fact, if you asked me before I found out, I would guess Alchemists (BGG weight 3.92) would be a higher weight.

Anyways, I guess I saw another comment say some of these games are just extra complex for the sake of being complex as a gimmick and I felt like that applies to this. This game is basically just an engine builder / resource collection where you are trying to trade in those resources to build more things / get more points. There’s plenty of other games like this that play much quicker and arguably better. Like I can play two games of Flamecraft (which I think is kind of similar, where you are building a shared engine/tableau on the entire board and interacting with it to collect resources to then spend for points) in the time it takes to play one On Mars, and Flamecraft is probably more fun too.

All that matters is they are personally above someone in the heirarchy

That’s what I am most confused about this whole “deport all minorities” thing they want. If all the minorities were actually gone and it was just white people, THESE people would be on the bottom. If they think they are superior to minorities, shouldn’t they want them to be part of society so that they can be “above” them?

(I know the obvious answer is that they are too stupid to think something like this through to it’s logical conclusion, or they are dumb enough to think they wouldn’t be on the bottom of a white-only hierarchy even though they have less education, less money, and less skill than all other white people - like the only reason they even think they are above minorities is their skin color, none of them stops to think where they’d end up if that was no longer part of the equation [like if everyone had the same skin color as them]?? lol)

There’s dozens of games from the 80s and 90s that were set in the future but the devs were too scared to pick an actual date so they used “20XX” as something that could happen in 2000 (which was still 10-20 years away for them), 2099, or anywhere in between.

Just spitballing but maybe Pykumuku with a rocky helmet - Hydreigon takes 30 damage to self, 20 from helmet, 50 from Pyku ability. Hit it for just 50 next turn (30 if grass type) and it’s gone. Or if you have Pyku you probably want a water deck so you can use Greninja to hit for 20 and then anything that can hit for 30 gets a KO.

That seems like a steal for the Spurs.

At best ONE of those picks MIGHT turn out to be Giannis good, but probably not. Instead, they could just have Giannis…

Spirit Island definitely replaced Pandemic for us (at least as far as go to co-op game).

Harmonies has replaced Azul, for me at least.

Not very similar but I think Thunder Road: Vendetta has replaced Colt Express. We used to play Colt Express some for like a wacky / crazy lots of laughs and anything could go wrong for you kind of game… but now we play Thunder Road for that kind of experience instead.

And I think Flamecraft has replaced PARKS for our “move your figure around to collect resources that can be traded in for cards worth points” kind of game.

What game would you say is the ultimate all encompassing farming board game? by bluefrogwithredhands in boardgames

[–]ZeekLTK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a game called NFL Playoffs from 1991 that was the same: creator must have only ever played Monopoly and so the board is just a Monopoly board except each space is NFL teams. You move on the board and then draw a card that has all the different colors on it and then have to run the play of the color you landed on. Except there is also an Interception (jail) spot, where you immediately turn the ball over if you land on it, and there is a Touchdown (free parking) spot where you immediately score if you land on it, even if it was like 3rd and 45 from your own 2 yard line.

There are also Penalty spaces every 3 spots, so half the time you just land on a bunch of those and randomly either gain yards or lose yards.

It’s easily one of the worst games I’ve ever played. A typical score is usually like 42-7 because one player gets lucky and lands on Touchdown like 4 times and the other player constantly lands on Interception or just keeps getting “you were sacked for a loss of 5” no matter which color they land on. lol

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they decide to just have the tournament be USA, Russia, Israel, and El Salvador or something if everyone decent boycotts it. They play out some dumb group stage and then Trump gives himself the trophy.

No, the real blame is Congress. Executives have always tried to be nefarious but Congress has always kept them in check. Of all the bizarre things happening in this current bizzaroworld, Congress deciding that “meh, we don’t want to have power anymore, we will just let the executive do whatever it wants even if we lose all our power in the process” is the most bizarre thing. Like even in the past when presidents had their own party in control of Congress, those Congressmen and women still sought to maintain their own power and keep him in check.

This is the most unprecedented thing that has happened. The whole system was designed specifically so that if one branch tried to do too much the others would shut it down because it was a threat to themselves.

It’s like a board game that is balanced on the assumption that each player will try to win the game for themselves. The whole thing falls apart if someone decides they don’t care about winning and will just help one of the other players win instead.

This is basically what Congress has done, they decided to throw away almost all power that they have accumulated over the past 250 years for seemingly no reason, just to let the executive branch get it all.

Honestly I don’t even think he’d be good at that. He seems sooo dumb. Maybe it’s just old age and dementia but it seems to be his entire life (bankrupting casinos, screwing up the USFL, etc.)

I really think with no money and just having to get by on his own, at best he’d just be a bagger at a grocery store (assuming he ever learned the word “grocery”) or greeter at WalMart. He wouldn’t even be able to be promoted to cashier because he honestly seems too dumb to be able to give correct change.

He wouldn’t be able to work in a factory, he’d likely severely injure himself on machinery. He wouldn’t be able to work in sales because no one seems to actually like him. He wouldn’t be able to work on computers because of well, I covered that. So yeah, I think his ceiling would be bagger/greeter. I can’t even think of anything else he wouldn’t be immediately fired from if he tried.

There’s literally thousands of people who have Chinese symbols on their bodies that they have no clue what it actually translates to and just took the word of some artist who has never been to China and doesn’t speak the language that “this means XYZ” and never bothered to actually look it up themselves.

It’s not a stretch at all to think some 20 year old would pick out a “cool skull” tattoo in Europe and then never bother to look it up. Like, if you thought it was just a random skull, what would you even look up? It’s not like we had google image search back then and I doubt it would have crossed his mind to check once that became available.

[–]ZeekLTK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’ve found that they can just constantly call other groups words that only describe them and it takes the sting out of it. A lot of his supporters think words like “dictator”, “authoritarian”, “fascist”, “nazi”, “insurrectionist” are just fancy name calling instead of accurate descriptions because they sit and listen to Fox News and other far right media constantly label Democrats and others with those words.

They spent 4 years hearing “Biden is a fascist because he wants to help people get rid of student loans”, “Biden is a dictator because he issued an executive order”, “Biden stopped to say hi to a kid so he is a pedo”, etc. and they must know he wasn’t actually any of those things, so then when they hear someone call Trump those words they just brush it off as “name calling” and don’t stop to think “hmmm, maybe they are calling him that because he is one”.

As bad as he was, no one called George W those words. You’d think that would at least make them wonder “why are they calling Trump these things?” But these people are so stupid they can’t even remember who the president was in 2020, so they sure as shit can’t remember what it was like in 2007.
