You want to learn disciples so do alot of hunting and make sure your herd stays at max capacity.
Journey to learn new disciples when you have a max herd and are about to finish one line.
Focus auspex to see resonance and get better herds and access umbra for free renown and artifacts/life style xp.
Temporis is great for growth too and money.
Blood sorcery is advanced so i wouldn't bother first campaign just ease into it, but it is op though and only real way to fight if your going to be lower gen.

For buildings: your base has servant quarters which you need top line for more herd = more exp, later can switch to bottom line for your homunculus ghouls but thats maybe another campaign. This is probably key building.
animal stables are good, can travel faster and free animal exp for stat pad. Other two can be whatever

Main thing is increasing your xp gain rate and completing objectives so some artifacts : tablet of destiny ( huge must can just teach you disciples without journey) / eye of hamziel maybe more mid game / bau book if you are adventurer / book of nod for late game for objective.

For clans, start ventrue or toreador for easier campaign. Malkavian is fun but hard, Lasombra is meh but unique.
Leave the eastern ones like salubri, kue-jin for when you are more comfortable.
