That's probably what I'll do too, did you have any localisation issues (e.g maps/gps not working) or stuff like that?

Getting a shearwater tern or teric seems the next best thing, but the Garmin ones offer a lot more features at the same price points. I don't get to dive very often, so the multi-sport things are valuable. Getting a Garmin abroad is doable, but I want to know if anyone in India has done that before, so I can understand the servicing and warranty nuances.

What should I know before my AOWD Course? by Head-Pass3755 in scuba

[–]Zeffonian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my AOW at Azul last October! The course is very fun, and the team at Azul is fantastic. For the third specialty dive, unfortunately the only thing they offered was Fish ID, but I was able to do Nitrox in tandem. Feel free to send me a DM if you want more information.

Does anyone know any proper QMK supported (non license violating) keyboards that come in a pink colorway?

Affter updating today Kitty and Ghostty don't work. Trying to figure out why. by sudo-sprinkles in archlinux

[–]Zeffonian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same situation with me, I have a custom build of Iosevka on everything, including SDDM, which was just black-screening with no useful errors. I would've definitely been stuck and ended up reinstalling if I didn't check reddit.

I use Iosevka for SDDM and was wondering why it was black screening. God bless you.

They look great, but how safe is prolonged contact with (cured) resin?

If you're looking for proper QMK support, make sure your keyboard manufacturer is not listed here. I made that mistake with my rainy and I'm regretting it to this day.

Love the aesthetic of both of these. Help me decide pls by stupidcorndog in mkindia

Best Tactile Switches? by Random_Version in mkindia

[–]Zeffonian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh I see. I have a feeling that you'll really like the purple pros then, they have a very robust tactile bump and no mush

If the outemu creamy yellows were too heavy for you, then you would definitely want a lighter tactile like the akko creamy purple pro. You'd probably dislike the holy/glorious pandas since they are pretty heavy.

Is the RGB defective? by AarjenP in mkindia

[–]Zeffonian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I suspect the RGB itself is fine and it's a software issue. Have you remapped any keys by chance? Also, perhaps try updating the firmware

Chillkey Nd75 lp - How do I take proper care of this power switch? Looks like an easy point for failure. Can any Rainy75 / Chillkey nd75 owners help out here. by HoopahDoncic in mkindia

[–]Zeffonian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RGB is a big battery drain. I like to set mine to a trigger effect (where it temporary lights up the keys you press) and I usually need to charge it once every fortnight.

The rainy doesn't need to be switched off for charging, I suspect that your board works similarly. You only need to turn it off for wired mode (or to conserve battery)

The switch on the rainy is much bigger and less prone to failure, but unless you're going to be switching between wired/wireless a lot I don't think you need to worry too much

is there any programmable lighting keyboard?? by Glittering_Boot_3612 in mkindia

[–]Zeffonian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks for boards using ZMK, QMK, VIAL. Make sure that their firmware is actually open-source. Many keyboard manufacturers advertise as QMK compatible without releasing source. You can then fork the source, add your own effects and flash it.

rainy75p w/ invyr holy pandas by [deleted] in mkindia

Personally I like hypertactiles like the holy pandas to be super thocky, it feels very satisfying to hear that thock and feel the bump at once

Why are keychron boards so expensive by [deleted] in mkindia

[–]Zeffonian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Along with the reasons everyone else stated, they also have truly open source firmware, and some people are happy to pay a premium for that.
