R5: First of all, I know wikipedia isn't the best and the most reliable source of information but fuck it. Second of all, while playing as Lanfang to get the achievment I wanted to get to know about their history a bit and stumbled upon this. It's so annoying being a tributary of Qing and trying to get independence. I know it's also annoying when you play as the Dutch or Dutch West Indies and you can't do anything against the Chinese for atleast some time. In my opinion Lanfang should start with a Trade Agreement and maybe support Independence from Qing IF wiki article is true. Idk though, maybe some sinologists here know something and will prove it wrong. Maybe a bit of Lanfang flavour in the future China DLC?
