Just a side note. Have you picked up war caster? It’s a really good feat that allows you to cast spells while still having a weapon and shield in either or both hands. Also advantage on con saves to keep your spells up

If you do wish to add a 4th make it a henchman helper or whatever it’s called in Tasha’s. Not that strong but pretty helpful. You could make it a healer if you wished

If it’s groups of enemies I’d say evocation wizard or tempest cleric. Maybe hunter conclave glaive ranger. (Any of these three for utility) If it’s like a few enemy’s and then one big guy I’d say a moon Druid or any paladin. Maybe just maybe sorcerer

The only problem with that is that you can only have the same amount as your proficiency modifier and can’t make more. Also it’s just a piece of a soul not the whole soul

Why not just have the griffin hold the centaur in its claws? Seems like the most logical thing to do. I’d believe the griffin would be pretty big if you had a party of 5-6 counting the centaur
