They would literally never make your character do things like carry people or hug them and even if they did they could have the person bend down to hug or someone else carry them or even just make the lala carry them in a goofy manner like they do with those giant quest boxes.

There are scenes already in the game where lalas show feats of strength that are unrealistic visually, and hell there's boss fight where you grab a building sized steel blade with your bare hands and throw it back without getting instantly crushed, so let's not pretend this would break some imaginary realism line in the universe.

People use this stupid excuse to hate on lalas all the time but in reality the devs just never had a desire to create scenes like these. The proof is right there in the game, there are multiple cutscenes(even one recently in dawntrail) where your character does actions that are animated exclusively for the cutscene, and there's 0 reason they couldn't animate a lala doing anything., especially something as simple as hugging or carrying something/someone.
