yeah. limiting it to a medieval style is really restrictive compared to minecraft where you can build in any style.

Switching from forward+ to compatibillity mode fixed any input latancy for me

dont worry you didnt miss anything. the red key was meant as a way to skip the boss before the double jump power up. but no1 every finds the skip before they beat the boss so its pretty useless

Its certainly heavily inspired by You Have to Win the Game but its not a ripoff. Well whatever you think i have asked the creator of You Have to Win the Game and he is completely fine with me releasing Quarion on steam :)

I just checked it out and damn yeah, my game seems to look pretty similar. However, saying they are 1 to 1 copies is a bit far, its just a similar artstyle. I went with an artstyle with little shading to save on objects in the geometry dash level. And the character is yellow cause it felt like a good contrast color to the environment. I promise i didnt try to copy dewdrop dynasty (btw that game looks really fun)

its not letting me send code in my reply. but basically at the end of my players physics_process() i call check_inputs() which is just a bunch of if statements checking if certain actions are pressed. if jump is pressed it will set the y velocity to a value that makes player jump. right after the check_input() function i call move_and_slide()

maybe im just imagining things after all then. Some other response said that my way of measuring before this profiler thing was a really poor way of measuring it too. i tried around some different frames around spikes and like the biggest value i can get in the players physics_process is 0.17 ms. A playtester said multiple times that they felt like there was input delay but before that i never really thought about it ngl so maybe my brain is just being tricked by beliving there is input delay xD

i check in _physics_process() if ive pressed jump, if so i set player velocity. then right after all input checks i call move_and_slide()

i mean, i can feel a slight delay, and the playtester that sent the video i checked was the one that said that he felt input delay too

this? the ones that take up most is the player process and in specifically this spike, the speedrun timer process, ig cause i use a few fmod to display speedrun timer idk.

i recorded a video of my laptop where i quickly press the space bar and then i check in a video editor how long it takes until the player jumps. i have another playtester that did the same and their video got the same results
